you haven't found any of the other Foamy clips funny?
-or-

I hadn't watched many of them. And I didn't understand much about the few I did watch.

the sparks such a wheel will give off are insufficient for igniting the primer

You read my mind. I have thought of making one with a coil of steel that is like that used in winding clocks. Then, regulate the coil with a miniture governor to provide an even uncoiling of the spring.
To: King Prout
I'm not recommending the wheel. That is made of steel.
I'm talking about the piece of flint against which the wheel rubs. You might need a different wheel.

I don't think the artificial flints in a lighter can withstand the stresses of a spring-driven wheel-lock

It takes so long to download one here.

...faint whistle from the propellor tips and the smooth growl of the engine is ethereal and sublime.Indeed, and a sensory indulgence to be breathed in and savoured.

Okay. I only said it was cheap and available.
That used to mean something to you, back in our old drinking days...

Foamy does have a few good quotes.

I was honoured to watch a Heritage Flight consisting of a three ship formation: P-51D, F-16, and F-15. The Mustang was almost at maximum throttle while the two jets were throttled as far back a permissible for a slow pass in front of the reviewing stand. All I can say is that I had goosebumps. I would like to see the same thing done with the following: A B-17 or B-29 in formation with a B-1B and a BUFF.

Did you alert the Mods to that post and poster ?

Okay. I only said it was cheap and available. That used to mean something to you, back in our old drinking days... yeah, but I always insisted that whatever I picked up, even back then, was capable of enduring a normal "working load"
