Falconets and demi-falconets were a type of small naval artillery used in the 15th and 16th centuries.

gunpowder? or naval "catapults" - like the ship-mounted Onagers and ballistae the Romans and Byzantines used?

I am VERY proficient at finding everything *except* what I'm looking for.
I'm talented that way - just ask DawsonvilleDoc

Well, y'all just shout when you need something found on the internet...I apparently think in search algorithms.

Okay...so you'll need more than one glue, maybe? Depending on the location on the bow?
To: Dawsonville_Doc
well, as this bow is 100% bamboo (except for the rattan rings, but that's a detail for later), and has no euro-style "risers", I expect I'll need only one kind of glue
the question becomes: what KIND?
I do now know why the first trial of Gorilla Glue failed: the mating surfaces were too smooth, and I clamped them too hard, resulting in a "starved" joint.

To: Dawsonville_Doc
which is odd, considering that the instructions for the damned stuff plainly states: "All surfaces must be clean and tight fitting."
is a puzzlement
by the way, what the hell IS Gorilla Glue, anyway?
time to visit www.gorillaglue.com I guess

Supposedly will stick to oil fouled surfaces as well in a pinch.
Dunno if that is true yet.

To: Dawsonville_Doc
Yes.
But I don't know the veracity of that.
