All we are saying is give peas a chance
All we are saying is give peas a chance
War! - huh- yeah-
What is it good for?
Absolutely nothing
Uh-huh
War! huh yeah-
What is it good for?
Absolutely nothing
Say it again yall
War! huh good God
What is it good for?
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me
All we are saying is give peas a chance
All we are saying is give peas a chance
Yes, how many times must a man look up
Before he can see the sky ?
Yes, how many ears must one man have
Before he can hear people cry ?
Yes, how many deaths will it take till he knows
That too many people have died ?
The answer my friend is blowin' in the wind
The answer is blowin' in the wind.
All we are saying is give peas a chance
All we are saying is give peas a chance
Where have all the young men gone?
Long time passing
Where have all the young men gone?
Long time ago
Where have all the young men gone?
Gone for soldiers every one
When will they ever learn?
When will they ever learn?
Where have all the soldiers gone?
Long time passing
Where have all the soldiers gone?
Long time ago
Where have all the soldiers gone?
Gone to graveyards every one
When will they ever learn?
When will they ever learn?
All we are saying is give peas a chance
All we are saying is give peas a chance
I dunno.
It is disturbing to hear though.
*chuckle*
Darks when you talk about Kearen, one gets the idea of a small kitty you know? heheheeee
LOL, small at 24 pounds of princess attitude.
;-)
I've got to head off to bed.
Electrician is supposedly going to be here tomorrow.
Like he was supposed to be here yesterday -but wasn't.
Good night Darks.
Thanks Teddy Bear.
I went there for a second, but find I can't watch and post at the same time....I miss to much.
Good first show, eh?
ok, folks: I have managed to induce torsion-caused failure in the first test bow.
the good news: the glue did not delaminate... the bamboo fibers themselves failed, due to repeated rotation/twisting around their long axis.
the bad news: I just don't like this glue.
so...
I'm going to make a second test bow, flatter and broader to avoid the twisting problem, but trying Gorilla Glue one more time rather than this Marine Adhesive stuff. I learned a few things in making that bamboo dagger yesterday which seem to have greatly enhanced the set grip of this glue when dealing with bamboo lamination.
- no: virtually nothing I do hobby-wise is either idle or single-application ;) -
I shall also use this opportunity to learn how to install hardwood tips for durable nocks for the bowstring. The overall length of the bamboo is (straight) 55". Add the tips, and the straight OAL will be about 60" (five feet).
That should give me more than enough flex to really test what Gorilla Glue can put up with.
It will also give me useful scaling data for determining how straight length translates into unstrung recurve length and strung arc length.
These are vital data for planning out the final layup of the real japanese laminated bamboo longbow.
So this is no idle test.
I'm going to have to use bending templates, due to the limited "working time" Gorilla Glue allows.
Wish me luck.
have a good trip
depends on the local statutes, I think.
and THAT's just showing off!!!
You got a problem with that¿
Good luck.
Didn't the Japanese use some weird lacquer for their bows?
Axe Laura Earl
GO buy a bow!
You have insipred me!
I think that I shall manufaure my own demi-falconet...
they used a wide variety of substances for coating the surface.
I have not one single clue about what they used to use for lamination adhesive.
no: part of the idea here is to learn old skills anew... another part is to occupy my free time in an inexpensive manner ;)
whuzzat? catapult of some sort?
back around lunchtime.
GAWD but restoring chaos to order is a PITA once it has gotten well out of hand.
I know. I am the same way.
One would think that there should be some info on that somewhere.
Seems there isn't if you haven't found it.
