These are the issues that need solutions now, and Christopher Walken is not afraid to address them. He wants his supporters and opponents to know that he is clear in his ideals and will fight to lead America to a better place.

Campaign Finance Reform:

"I believe that campaign finance is a very tough issue, with good points on both sides; but I feel, as a wealthy american, that I should have no more say than even the least fortunate American citizen. That is why I am for campaign finance reform."

Military Funding:

"I am a huge supporter of the military. I have always thought of them as our guardians, and when our guardians are making less than the poverty line, and children are suffering because their parents decided to join the military, well, I get very upset. I feel that instead of sending billions to the Pentagon's pet projects, it should go to the troops."

Stem Cell Research:

"I'd met Chris Reeve several times before he died, and after having met him it is tough to be against it [stem cell research]. I am for human knowledge and expansion of human life. If stem cells are one way to do that, I need to be a good friend of stem cells."

In the eighties, Esquire did an interview with Walken. The title was a quote from the interview: "I AM THE MALEVOLENT WASP!" (he was thinking of his short, creepy role in Annie Hall). A lot of people still think of US presidents as more or less malevolent WASPs -- so he starts out ahead on that score -- but I don't think we'll elect someone who trumpets it from the rooftops.

In fact he's not much of a WASP -- his father was a German immigrant baker in New York. And he has been married to the same woman for years. But rumors about Natalie Wood persist, and after Kennedy and Clinton, I don't think we'd elect Walken -- assuming this is meant seriously.

Fun factoid:

Is only the second person in history to be nominated for both Best Supporting Actor from the Oscars, for Catch Me If You Can (2002), and Worst Supporting Actor from the Razzies, for The Country Bears (2002) in the same year. The first was James Coco, who was actually nominated for both awards for the same role in Only When I Laugh (1981).

The "world community" may be composed of tyrants and cowards, but it's hard to see how the US could have much credibility with anyone associated with the "Country Bears" movie at the helm.

Okay, here's the scoop/lowdown on it....

When Natalie's mother was preggers, or when Natalie was a bitty girl, some fortune teller said that Natalie would die in the water. She was absolutely petrified of water all of her life and couldn't swim.

Wagner and Natalie and Waulken were out in that boat together and things were not going all that well. The day she died, all of them had been in a restaurant, drinking, and there was a loud row.

Natalie and Waulkin were making a movie together, RJ thought that there had been hanky panky going on and was NOT happy with Waulkin being included on this wee trip.

Lots of theories, but nobody has EVER said how she came to die.
