Myers: Release of Abu Ghraib prison photos could cause riots

NEW YORK The chairman of the joint chiefs of staff warns that releasing photos and videotapes of detainee abuse at Iraq's Abu Ghraib prison could have serious consequences.

General Richard Myers contends in recently unsealed court documents that the release of such information would aid al-Qaida recruitment, weaken governments in Iraq and Afghanistan and incite riots against U-S troops.

The American Civil Liberties Union wants 87 photographs and four videotapes taken at the prison released as part of a lawsuit it filed in 2003.

The group is seeking information on the treatment of detainees in U-S custody and about the transfer of prisoners to countries known to use torture.

How about the people with brains left leave the country, let them get killed, then send our condolences?

Moslems are very weak psychologically. They feel threatened by others that think differently, they feel threatened by others live differently, they feel threatened by truth, they feel threatened by everything it seems. They are a very weak people.

Not to harp on the raving moonbat Cindy Sheehan, but she actually claims that Abu Ghraib was a contributing factor in her son's death.

Never mind that it only came out after his death.

It's such a great DNC talking point, she can't resist bringing it up.

Why doesn't the President just classify it secret?

Tell the court it is in the interests of national security.

If the judge doesn't like it, tough cookies.

The only possible reasons to demand public release of these photos are to damage and weaken America, and to strengthen the enemy. Can't we intern the ACLU at Gitmo as enemy combatants? I'd donate some boxers to put on their heads.

It makes a lot more sense to round up ACLU members and incarcerate them for the duration of the war than it does to put our soldiers at risk.

I'd be willing to help ferret these guys out of their poisonous nests in fact.

The coalition, which includes CBS Broadcasting Inc., NBC Universal Inc., and The New York Times Co. , supports a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit the American Civil Liberties Union has had pending the Defense Department since October 2003.

"I am so sick of the ACLU I could just spit! We have got to figure out a way to gut these communists!"

http://www.stoptheaclu.com and this goes for anyone else that thinks something needs to be done but doesn't know where to go to get started.

I've seen the response to Jay777's posts and it doesn't add up to the rehtoric I read on these threads.
He is not asking for money or a commitment but a few minutes and your mouse.

If you feel that strongly about countering the ACLU...all help will sincerely be appreciated!

Thanks Lobo! Between family, work, and maintaining the site, it is getting to be difficult to keep up with all the ACLU is doing. Definitely hard to post about all of it.

How does the ACLU have standing to demand photos of enemy combatants and foreign citizens?

Just finished watching the movie, "The Great Raid" and I'm thinking that nothing that happened in Abu Ghraib is even in the same category.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Substitute "Leftists" for "Moslems" and I would totally agree...
Here are the questions every red blooded American should be asking:
Why is the ACLU opposed to the Patriot Act?
Is it because they receive money from the middle east and china to support their legal terrorism against the USA?
Does the Patriot Act's provisions, allowing for the monitoring of terrorists and terrorist sympathizers scare the ACLU because it is a terrorist front group?
