McDonald's critic's critic sheds 37 pounds there [Morgan Spurlock]

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - Inspired by the documentary "Super Size Me," Merab Morgan decided to try a fast-food-only diet. The construction worker and mother of two ate only at McDonald's for 90 days and lost 37 pounds.

It was a vastly different outcome from what happened in the documentary to filmmaker Morgan Spurlock, who put on 30 pounds and saw his health deteriorate after 5,000 calories a day of nothing but McDonald's food for a month.

Morgan thought the documentary unfairly targeted the world's largest restaurant company, implying that the obese were victims of a careless corporate giant. People are responsible for what they eat, she said, not restaurants.

The problem with a McDonald's-only diet isn't what's on the menu, but the choices made from it, she said.

Spurlock, who turned his surprise-hit movie into a TV show on the FX network, declined to talk about Morgan or the many other McDieters who have criticized his film and found success losing weight by eating healthy foods off the McDonald's menu, said his publicist, David Magdael.

Excellent. The next time I need to lose a few pounds, I'll think of McDonald's first.

Ya, well there new Premium Chicken Club is fantastic...At 660 calories. If one is on a 1400 calorie diet, that pretty much blows it...yet you could have the sandwich and the egg McMuffin Combo with a diet coke for breakfast (490 cal.) and celery for supper...

You could...It could happen...In fact there are a couple hundred cals left...Room enough for a Snickers maybe.

A McDonalds hamburger doesn't even remotely resemble a hamburger.

If you REALLY want to cleanse your body, and lose some weight as an added bonus, try the Master Cleanser. Google it. I did it, and it changed my life. Freepmail me if you want more info.

5,000 calories??? I'd think you'd gain weight if you had 5,000 calories of tofu a day. (In my case, the retching would offset the tofu though.)

5000 calories a day? I don't care if you are eating tofu you eat 5000 calories of it and lay round and you will puff up too.

Sheesh!

Rumor has it that McDonalds is running out of meat and will soon be forced to buy a second cow.

You can do the same with the mis-branded "Golitely" (any of those who have had a colonoscopy know what that is

" A McDonalds hamburger doesn't even remotely resemble a hamburger."

I rememeber long ago when Dad used to take us for a Sunday ride , and all us kids would yell out " let's go to McDonalds " when we saw the golden arches up ahead . My Dad would zoom on by saying " hamburgers taste better cooked at home " . And they did ...

McDonalds (and Burger King) seem to be targeting their advertising toward the death culture; rap, gangsta crap, etc. Like them or not, I spend my fast food dollars elsewhere.

Have a great weekend.

Sure pull all the buns off, order diet drinks and no fries. You can do atkins/lo carb anywhere.

I hear Spurlock's next project is to try to live on minimum wage for two months. He's a socialist bastard. I'd love to show him where this leads over the long term by sending him to an Innu village up north where the gov't in their wisdom doled out over a quarter mill per person (including infants) to this village to "solve" their social ills.

They've never been worse - more gas sniffing just never cars.

Thanks Canada and socialists everywhere for wasting MY hard earned money. We need to shut these fools up. And a pie hole full of McD's apparently didn't do it...
