Arizona FBI agent Ken Williams gets a tip that makes him suspicious that some flight students might be Islamic militants. [New York Times, 6/19/02] It appears that flight school student Zacaria Soubra is seen at a shooting range with a known jihad veteran. [Los Angeles Times, 10/28/01 (C)] On this day, Williams starts a formal investigation into Soubra. [Arizona Republic, 7/24/03] Soubra is the main focus of Williams's later memo. But Williams's work is greatly slowed because of internal politics and personal disputes. When he finally returns to this case in December 2000, he and all the other agents on the international-terrorism squad are diverted to work on a high-profile arson case. Says James Hauswirth, another Arizona agent, [Williams] fought it. Why take your best terrorism investigator and put him on an arson case? He didn't have a choice. The arson case is finally solved in June 2001 and Williams once again returns to the issue of Islamic militant flight school students. His memo comes out one month later instead of some time in 2000. Hauswirth writes a letter to FBI Director Mueller in late 2001, complaining, [Terrorism] has always been the lowest priority in the division; it still is the lowest priority in the division. Others concur that the Arizona FBI placed a low priority on terrorism cases. [Los Angeles Times, 5/26/02; New York Times, 6/19/02]
More on Soubra here
All right I figured it out, give me 1/2 hour to get home, and I'll get the rest of it up.

Thank you!
It's amazing what can be found by accident. Jayna Davis asked me if I knew the date of the Gorelick memo. She heard it was mentioned on Limbaugh and thought it might be June 13, 1995. I did a google with -- gorelick memo june 13, 1995 limbaugh -- and this site popped up.
There we go. Next time you will be asked. :)

Holy cow... just hit the wire.

We are watching the beginning of the total dismantling of the supposed Clinton legacy. His evil wife is going down with him. May it take down that whole damn party.
Hit the wire on Friday afternoon. That sounds familiar. I read the story and man is this thing going to blow up. A few of the "bigs" on the panel will have to try and rescue their reputations so expect they will be forced to follow-up.
"We are watching the beginning of the total dismantling of the supposed Clinton legacy. His evil wife is going down with him. May it take down that whole damn party."
This certainly has the potential to destroy the bent one and his wife the enabler. I suspect that's why she helped get Gorelick on the panel--to shield her from having to testify and to help sanitize the records and point the fingers at the innocent Bush people. It worked...for a while. But now it's coming unzipped. I love it.
Thanks for that link.
Excellent.
but what about Boxer/Hillary in 'o8!? (sniff)
From that link you provided:
"Staff members now are searching documents in the National Archives to look for notes from the meeting in Afghanistan and any other possible references to Atta and Able Danger, Felzenberg said."
Who who wants to bet that *somehow* the documents are gone or sanitized (copies returned, while the origianls schrdded by Mr. Burlgler)
"Who who wants to bet that *somehow* the documents are gone or sanitized (copies returned, while the origianls schrdded by Mr. Burlgler)"
Bruce Lindsy told Sandy to get his fat ass over to the Archives and take care of that incriminating stuff or else. Seems I heard Lindsy was one of the first calls Sandy made after getting the stuff.
"Staff members now are searching documents in the National Archives to look for notes from the meeting in Afghanistan and any other possible references to Atta and Able Danger, Felzenberg said."
Translation: Staff members are busting their butts to find every scrap of information and get it shredded, burned, buried or injested before it can be uncovered by anyone remotely considered 'independent'. Stand by for an 'official statement' that reads: "The Committee has conducted an exhaustive review of all its records and finds no evidence that information was in its hands to the effect.....blah, blah, blah"
Al is trying to deny that this would have changed the direction of the investigation...Whose team is he on? Is this spin or is he really missing the point of the Gorelick Wall?
