I could not help but write this after reading her open letter to the President.
Nice letter Doubt she'll read it though
FYI...my open letter to Ms Sheehan.
Someone from DU will likely snag it and post it there. It'll cause them to say...what they say every day about us.
shamless?
If only she would read it!
However, even if she did, I'm not sure she'd understand what you've just said. It's difficult if not impossible to reason with the unreasonable--and just as difficult to speak of honor to those without honor. Usually, they just don't comprehend the concept.
I want Cindy Sheehan to grow progressively more shrill and tin-foil-hatty. When your enemy is destroying themselves, get out of the way.
Let's let America see what the left stands for -- again. I'd wager than within the next five years she'll be found actively aiding Al Qaeda.
Smackdown!
You're too kind. Cindy won't be satisfied until she's thoroughly exposed herself to humiliation and shame.
While driving home yesterday evening this snide observation popped into my head... Cindy Sheehan is to Code Pink as Katie Homes is to Scientology. Both Cindy and Katie appear to be shallow thinkers, childish, with a strong need for attention and approval.
Thank you Jeff. This cuts right to the chase. Great writeup.
>It is really Casey whom you are fighting Ms Sheenan, isn't it? It is the statement he made with his service and with his life, and his willingness, all of your protests and carryings on notwithstanding, to fight for his nation against enemies he clearly saw, that you are really railing against.<
Good analysis, Jeff, but with your permission, I'll take it one step further.
From where I sit, Cindy looks like a poster child for the all-too-common, arrested development child of the '60's who, to rebel against her parents, and the Establishment, tracked further and further to the left.
However, her son, who she desperately now tries to mold in her image, has reverted to the ideals and morals that were the hallmark of her parents' generation.
Cindy is fighting her father, as ferociously has she is fighting her son.
It's too bad she doesn't seek professional help, to find peace.
Ignore this woman. There is nothing to gain by engaging her.
From Drudge:
FAMILY OF FALLEN SOLDIER PLEADS: PLEASE STOP, CINDY!
Thu Aug 11 2005 12:56:21 ET
The family of American soldier Casey Sheehan, who was killed in Iraq on April 4, 2004, has broken its silence and spoken out against his mother Cindy Sheehan's anti-war vigil against George Bush held outside the president's Crawford, Texas ranch.
The following email was received by the DRUDGE REPORT from Casey's aunt and godmother:
Our family has been so distressed by the recent activities of Cindy we are breaking our silence and we have collectively written a statement for release. Feel free to distribute it as you wish.
Thanks, Cherie
In response to questions regarding the Cindy Sheehan/Crawford Texas issue: Sheehan Family Statement:
The Sheehan Family lost our beloved Casey in the Iraq War and we have been silently, respectfully grieving. We do not agree with the political motivations and publicity tactics of Cindy Sheehan. She now appears to be promoting her own personal agenda and notoriety at the the expense of her son's good name and reputation. The rest of the Sheehan Family supports the troops, our country, and our President, silently, with prayer and respect.
Sincerely,
Casey Sheehan's grandparents, aunts, uncles and numerous cousins.
Developing...
She works with complete fidelity for and on behalf of the terrorists. She is the most powerful and welcome weapon they have now.
Actually I think you might have a great idea here.
Why doesn't everyone going to the Crawford rally write their own letter to Cindy and then personally give their letter to her at the pro-troops rally on Saturday?
If enough people tell her she is spitting on her son's grave by what she is doing, maybe she might get the message eventually. She needs to hear the other side.
You make all Vets proud. Thank you
Well done. You put into words what I have been trying to say for days. Thank you!
Great letter, but I am afraid that it will fall on deaf ears.
