Thanks. One of the freakiest album covers ever!
Also, the soundtrack to Reservoir Dogs.
Super-Billy's Hits of the 70s!
Steven Wright is awesome.
:7)
Coming to America always reminds me of my grandparents who both came here from Europe. I saw Neil Diamond in concert several years ago, and I enjoyed it a lot.
KBLA superhits of the seventies just keeps on rolling with this little ditty that went to #22 in the summer of 1970. The George Baker Selection, "Little Green Bag."
:(
What? How can they have a concert without Bush-bashing cliches? Isn't that what people go to concerts for?
Especially when Chevy Chase sang it on SNL.
I heard him on Letterman one night, said he wrote Red Red Wine when he was 13 years old. He recorded it in the mid-60's and UB40 did it reggae (i hate reggae) in the 80's
Come-a come-a down, doobie doo down down...
Do do do, doobie bop bop bop, Oh do bop she don don
Woh who who who yeah yeah yeah
(Whoa-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh)
Well, by cracky, it's Neil Sedacky!
I've always liked him and was contemplating seeing him in NYC...but won't be able to get there....I (finally) just got his Jonathon Livingston Seagull CD....great music in that...actually, that can be said about every album (yes, album) I've listened to....I believe, though, he's on the liberal side...I think I read he had a fund-raiser with Baabaa Streisand....but he, apparently, knows where his bread is buttered and won't insult Americans, regardless of their political leanings....
Except the narrator of Girl, You'll Be a Woman Soon is also young.
Red, Red Wine's another good one.
"It's Brother Love's Travelin Salvation Show!
Pack up the babies & grab the old ladies
Everyone goes, everyone knows Brother Love's show... Reach out your hand, brothers...."
and
"I'm alive and I don't care much for words of doom
If it's lovin you need well I got the room
I've got love and love is all I really need
I'm alive!"
I'm going to be seeing him in Boston this Tuesday with my wife. I wasn't exactly looking forward to it but now that I've read this post, I guess it won't be such a bad night after all.
I dunno. I never thought he played on the same team as I did. Friend of Dorothy??
