A POLICE chief has ordered his force to wear green ribbons to show solidarity with Muslims who fear persecution after the bomb attacks in London. Steve Green, the Chief Constable of Nottinghamshire, wants the public as well as his 4,000 officers to wear the Good Faith Ribbons and has bought 20,000 for £2,000. Announcing the campaign, which starts today, Mr Green told his officers that they have a duty of care to everyone in the community. Mr Green said: One thing that became apparent very quickly after the London bombings was the very real sense of isolation felt by Muslims and other minority faiths.
The chief constable, whose force came under fierce criticism this year over claims that it was failing to control crime, said: People have spoken to me of being stared at, of being pointed at and of feeling excluded when simply walking in the street. Women speak of being too frightened to go shopping and having to send their husbands instead. People are quite simply being held hostage by fear.
At the same time, Mr Green said, ordinary people have asked me how they can show their support for Muslims; how they can demonstrate that not everyone is prejudiced or bigoted. Wearing one of these ribbons overcomes that problem because it is a highly visual demonstration of solidarity with the Muslim community.
Musharraf Hussain, imam of Nottinghams largest mosque and a senior member of the Muslim Council of Britain, said: I think it is a fantastic idea and one that will reassure Muslims of the fact that they have many, many friends.
Hate Hollywood- 'er, well most of it today. Old time movie buff myself though. Nearly all we kids had in the thirties(cinema). Yeah, very nice indeed- the picture. Saw the film and Flynn still had an Australian accent.
I remember the bit where, hot on the chase, Errol asked someone "whych wye did thye goah?".
I do know whether to laugh or cry on this kind of information. Green ribbons is it? Well, I hate to poke fun, but.....The Gilbert and Sullivan light opera had a ditty thus:
"The policeman's lot is not a happy one, happy one". Yes, indeed. Poor England. Bring on the hard men.
Solidarity with the living Muslims, but not the dead Christians, killed by Muslims.
The chief constable is promoting himself --- note his name.

You know what they say. It ain't easy bein' green.
Green - as in green slime. I foresee this as becoming a hollyweird trend, green ribbons.
Good faith of what, that he's going to get his *ss blown up?
Im going to vomit.
That green ribbon is to hold the white feather in place.
Twit.
I see many many virgins in Mr. Green's imaginary future and a magic carpet ride too.
Nottingham has some of the worst crime rates in Britain. I used to wonder why. Now I know.

If my job told me to wear this ribbon or any other that I did not support, I would tell them to PISS OFF! They can fire me! At some point, you have to stand up for yourself.
You have GOT to be kidding me.
