SUNRISE -- Police seized 2 ounces of marijuana at the home of Anthony Diotaiuto after shooting him 10 times, according to information on the drug raid released Tuesday.
Also Tuesday, while many friends and relatives of the 23-year-old bartender and student mourned him at a Davie funeral home, others appeared at a Sunrise City Commission meeting to demand an explanation for the fatal raid
"Do 2 ounces of marijuana constitute a death warrant?" asked Sunrise resident William de Larm, a friend of Diotaiuto's.

As for questionable evidence, tell it to the doctors who removed 50 cal. rounds from three dead ATF agents. You have compassion for the pigs that roasted these people alive, yet no compassion for the innocents who were incinerated by your JBT pals.
It's people like you that give any good cops that may be out there a bad name.

"Allegations Friendly Fire Injured or Killed Some Agents"
Some estimates indicate that as many as half of the BATF casualties may have been due to friendly fire.
The stupid BATFags shot each other...real troopers, aren't they!

You might not know this but a 50 cal. round leaves a very discernible wound especially when they have gone through two or three walls and ballistic body armor before striking a human. But you are correct, these type rounds are like the Energizer Bunny, they keep going and going.

The no-warning have been on tape or some other evidence that liars on the swat team couldn't overcome.

Dale: "It is a most difficult job, would you care to contribute to the Sunrise Police Department Coffee & Kruller Fund?"
Chip: "No, I already gave at the coroner's office."

The claim: "announc[ed] their presence" before smashing in his door
Depends on how well sound insulated the doors and walls are, and what's happening inside the house, that could be about as good as "MMMMFMMFMFMMFMMMMMMFFFFMMMFFF"!
There should be a second announcement once the door is busted open. I don't see one mentioned.

Your comments are so full of stereotypes it is impossible to take you seriously! Seeing how I'm just turning your gibberish around on you, I guess that comment says it all. I pity the next citizen you enounter in the course of your duties as I expect the chip on you shoulder will land on them.

I'm so glad that you two have chosen to characterize me through your own skewed and demented goggles. It simply illuminates the real depravity of your behavior and judgment. It must be very easy to go through life with the myopic perspective you have shown in this thread. All laws are meant to be broken and anarchy reigns, what a life you all must live.

""Nothing adds up," Brian Kickbush, Whittier's boyfriend, said during the visitation at Fred Hunter Funeral Home. "If they announced themselves, I guess all the neighbors are all liars.""
Ah I get it. They whispered: 'Police'

But I suspect you really don't care about any of that. More likely you are simply using this incident as an excuse to rail about perceived oppression by what you consider a totalitarian agency. What a crock, and you had to throw in an ad hominem to boot. First of all a search warrant was being served on the premises NOT an arrest warrant. Second of all, it's not necessary that the suspect be present. Thirdly they are routinely served in the manner I described, and has been described by others. Search warrants are not usually served by the SWAT team unless they are serving a warrant on a someone convicted of or suspected of having committed a violent crime. I could go on by why bother...

I seriously doubt they "removed" a fifty caliber round from any ones body. IIRC the first mention of the Branch Davidians having a Fifty was a threat to use it against one of the ATF's little toys they were using. They pulled the toy out and later brought in Bradley Fighting Vehicles.
Please watch "Waco: Rules of Engagement" to understand what people here are scared of.
The definition of terrorist was different then. It will be different in the future.
Watch the film - It radically changed my views on the Swat Team and militarization of the police. The final part where the children are in the kitchen area with the FBI snipers (Lon got some more kills!) firing into the only exit is chilling. The FLIR tapes show it CLEARLY. You then contrast it with the "sworn" testimony . . . . .
Just watch it and tell me it is nothing to be concerned about.
It is good to stick to your views - you certainly are facing hostile fire here.

Too many toys, too much publicity, too much adrenalineJust for laffs, find out how many SWAT Teams are operating in your county. I'll bet your Housing Authority Police have one. Perhaps your Park Police another. Then there's the Sheriff's Department. Then every town PD. Be very afraid. These hyper-armed squads are necessary ... but definitely not in the numbers that exist now. It has become a small town industry and is a misuse of Federal funds ... a classic case of unintended consequences.
What it means is that you have SWAT Teams with time on their hands who are just itching for action and literally looking for things to do to justify their existence. Unfortunately, what they do tends to wind up in court afterwards and the damage settlements are huge.
Rightly so. I certainly do not know all the facts of this case. But when it hits court, I bet I'll get to find out, and what I am going to find out ain't gonna be good.
BTW, in every county in this country their are some very bad boys wanted on outstanding warrants. Why not employ the officers sitting around the SWAT Ready Room to pick up a few of these guys. Let's find out how tough SWAT guys really are.

I agree that the FBI's handling of the Waco tragedy was a disaster and many questions still remain. I also feel compassion for the innocent men women and children who died as a result of Janet Reno's actions. The only part of that incident which I am advocating is the requirement to serve the warrants and arrest DK. The courts are where the sorting out occurs. Unfortunately, the whole incident was rife with ineptitude. None the less, laws must be enforced and the serving of the warrants was required by law. I personally would have chosen a much more safe and benign way of doing that.
