SUNRISE -- Police seized 2 ounces of marijuana at the home of Anthony Diotaiuto after shooting him 10 times, according to information on the drug raid released Tuesday.
Also Tuesday, while many friends and relatives of the 23-year-old bartender and student mourned him at a Davie funeral home, others appeared at a Sunrise City Commission meeting to demand an explanation for the fatal raid
"Do 2 ounces of marijuana constitute a death warrant?" asked Sunrise resident William de Larm, a friend of Diotaiuto's.

They get good marks for this. They also get all kinds of neat toys. Ninja suits, face masks, grenades & launchers, helicopters, armored personnel carriers, select-fire weapons, battering rams, armed and armored robots, attack dogs, 160 MPH unmarked cars, etc., etc.

Yeah - you're right. And twice that being grown in American closets.

More pot being grown in closets than being smuggled accross our southern border? I wouldn't think so.

Seems to me that if the cops think a person might have firearms in the house, that'd be all the more reason to *not* go busting in the way they did
I say this sort of thing wouldn't happen if we all lived in deep underground bunkers with plenty of video cameras to let us know when our public servants are knocking at the door.

I think it's easier and cheaper to grow better stuff here at home any more. But don't let that stop you from resenting illegals, you still can. :~D

Every law abiding citizen I know pretty much hates cops. That's a fact.

Yeah. We don't register them here in California either. But a record is created when you transfer one. Of course they are supposed to be destroyed after a year or so (maybe someone can clear this up for me.) As far as I know, there is no requirement that records from DROS (dealer record of sale) forms be destroyed after some period of time. Any transfer of a handgun in california requires a report. You also have to report handguns you might bring into the state should you move here.
Sounds like registration to me.

The Broward County Clerk's office has many court files containing allegations of civil wrongs of the Sunrise law enforcement. The history of Sunrise's development is loaded with instances of corruption within several local agencies. The daily Ft.Lauderdale and Broward newspaper has reported these stories over the 19 years I've been in the area. I suspect your reply was intended to be a bit cynical, it was well done.

Your post makes more sense than the police planting a gun just so they can shoot a guy with a couple ounces of marijuana. I'm not certain it wasn't better that they confronted him in his home rather than in public, since they probably don't want to risk innocent by-stander injuries if he pulled a gun.
