Maybe I should move to the state to 'collect' on my minority status, and more of us non-Texan freepers, too. Of course, if too many of us move there, it could throw off the percentages.
True, but the more conservative white couples tend to have more children than liberal white couples.. So there is a cultural thing there too.

Well, let's give some props to Mexican Americans.
There is also the mitigating effect of inter-racial marriage...lot's o hot, smart, latinas in Texas. I have a lot of friends married to Mexican American girls.
No need for "whitey" to be scared, I think...after all...this country does many things better than all the others on this planet..."Assimilate" when it comes to jumbling up culutres the US is the "Borg". IMHO.
Press should do a better job positively communicating diverstiy within this country...rather than creating a divide and/or victims.

Seems like Texas is a minority-minority-minority-minority state, no majority.
As we all know, the press will spin it as their agenda dictates the story to have "it"...thus you are correct.
I would add, with "whitey" being the largest minority...hahahahahaha.
The press...juco journalism majors with a keyboard, it's scary what they can do.

There are more whites than any other racial group, yet they're considered a minority now? Apparently, it's whites vs. everyone else (the Ryder cup of racial statistics).

true, but the ones worth marrying don't generally call themselves Mexican Americans. i would never put another country's name before ours.
Thanks to U.N. programs (some that we help fund), the Mexican birthrate hasd plumetted.
