Our newsbreak this morning said only staffers and certain Commission members -- a lot were left in the dark if the report was right this morning. The staffers were the ones that vetted this whole deal.

Lehman and Rohmer are both livid they didn't know so it did not get vetted to the whole Commission. I would love to know which members did get this info and if that is what Burger was stealing.

So, find out which Commission members were letting staffers do the work they were responsible for, and throw them out!

Gorelick is surely behind the blocking of this information--she had to protect not only the Clinton admin and policies, but her own rear end. I wish I could be optimistic about some punishment coming to these people, but so far the Bush admin has been too busy making nice to lower the boom.

Burger’s sentence was delayed? I thought he got a $10K fine and a slap on the wrist.

Notice this story is from LAST SUMMER during the initial flury of Berger's Underweargate.

BUBBA'S BOY BERGER New York Post. New York, N.Y.: Jul 22, 2004. pg. 030 People: Clinton, Bill, Berger, Samuel R Section: Editorial Text Word Count 646 Document URL:

Abstract (Document Summary)

[Sandy Berger], of course, is not likely to be so lucky; he's admitted to breaking the law - though not in those terms - by carting the secret documents out the archives in a leather portfolio.

What Berger took from the Archives was several drafts of an after- action review of al-Qaeda's thwarted attempt to attack America during the 1999 millennium celebration, written by anti-terrorism ...

I'd be willing to bet that the Commission members who knew were Gorelick and BenVeniste, charter members of the BlameBushFirsters, and that they ordered the staff to cool their jets.
