9/11 Commission Acknowledges Briefing On Able Danger
Captain's Quarters ^ | August 10, 2005 | Captain Ed

Posted on 08/11/2005 6:13:03 AM PDT by YaYa123

Tomorrow's New York Times reports that members of the 9/11 Commission reversed themselves and now acknowledge being briefed on the Army's data mining project, Able Danger, prior to the publication of their report to the American people. After over 24 hours of denying that anyone had told the Commission about the secret project, their spokesman now says that commission officials met with a uniformed officer who told them about the identification of Mohammed Atta and three other 9/11 hijackers in 2000, over a year prior to the attacks:

Gorelick, the staffers, but the rest of the commission's members as well. All of the commission members have ties to people and interests that should've ensured those members never sat on that committee. It wasn't just Gorelick. I know Weldon respects Lehman and Roemer, but as far as I'm concerned, not a single one of those people should have been allowed to sit on that committee. And if can find the info I'm talking about, anyone can. It ain't rocket science.

I hope somebody has sent a link to this thread to Weldon, and maybe Lehman too. I get very frustrated when it seems that Freepers have put together a case and the government and media are apparently clueless. Maybe we're not keeping them informed enough.

Just as important as the members who sat on the Commission were the staff members.

Maybe we're not keeping them informed enough.

Judging from what Weldon just said on FNC, he's blaming the staff and clearing the commissioners, I don't think it's a matter of keeping them informed.

1 year prior to the 9/11 WTC/Pentagon attacks, Mohamed Atta's Saudi Arabian roommate crashed his Piper Cherokee private aircraft into a Piper Aztec commercial flight in Florida. The date: 9/11/2000.

That's not what the report says. The report says that the Cherokee was in front of the Aztec. It also blames the crash on the local crontroller's failure to keep the aircraft separated. Now what you wrote might be techically correct if the Aztec overtook the Cherokee and as it was doing so, the Cherokee, piloted by the Saudi, executed the turn as directed by ATC.

How do you hide Sandy Berger -- he is going to have to go on a diet! :)

Will the MSM ask "why" ?

If it's breaking in the NYT, it will at least get a little bit of MSM airplay. I'd sure be interested in the "who" part of that "why," though.

According to Weldon on one of the shows, Lehman was livid when he found this out.

Limbaugh: We need an investigation to investigate the investigation.

I'll tell you what we need, and it's not Weldon, it's a freaking special prosecutor.

I didn't write that, I re-posted that comment from Southack.

When I read the report, I realized that they would be reaching conclusions about the cause of the crash without even considering the possiblity of intent on the part of the Saudi pilot. That might lead them to conclude or assume things in error.

I would imagine intent is not something generally considered in air accidents, unless something points investigators in that direction - like a suicide note, or a history of depression, or a roommate who intentionally crashes his plane into a building exactly one year to the date later.

It may well be we already have a Special Prosecutor. I mean, for some inexplicable reason, Berger's sentencing was delayed until September.

I'm listening to Rush speculate on a possible Berger connection to the 9-11 Commission and Able Danger.

You must be very patient.

My experience with Special Prosecutor's is that once they recognize that if they finish they are out of job and out of the spotlight they do what any of us would do. They stall. It will be 2-3 years before you hear anything out of a Special Prosecutor investigation. I'll take some testimony before Congress from the 9/11 Commissioners and the staff who were involved in this fiasco.

All true, no doubt...b/c we know their "History". The Federal Gov. - 9/11 Comm. should've launched a real investigation, right after Gorelick "DoJ Wall" was revealed....(and follow-up all the threads/clues)

...first of all, expelling her from the 9/11 Comm., compelling her to testify before the same Comm...and, "Why was she there in the 1st place?"

....America shall continue to weep/suffer, b/c of the Klintoons' (and their Ilk) Actions.

Got that right! Have a feeling this is sprouting legs as I type. Maybe the Clintons are finally going to get what is coming at them.

The more I have thought about Monica, the more sure I am that it was done on purpose to hide their dealings with China which were under investigation. Took the limelight off any China investigation or any other intelligence failure and put the focus on Monica. I believe Ms. Clinton knew all the details and played up the wronged wife. Nothing I have seen to date has changed my mind.

Personally I think Wag the Dog was made into a movie for the same reason. No way was it a coincidence that the firefly or whatever it was girl was wearing a black beret. Set up by the White House and their friends in Hollywood.

First thing I thought of was the delay in Burger's sentencing and then it was confirmed on here it was delayed.

This whole deal is gathering steam when the NY Times actually talks about Atta and the 9-11 Commission. Could have knocked me over with a feather!
