The Evangelical Lutheran Church of America is expected to adopt a resolution this week promising to work for immigration reforms in the United States, becoming the latest religious denomination to boost its efforts to advocate for immigrants and refugees.
The resolution does not mention illegal aliens, although it criticizes "burdensome laws and procedures and unjust practices [that] undermine our security."
The ELCA's action is the latest push by national religious officials in favor of loosening restrictions on immigration.

Maybe they can encourage illegal gays to sneak into the country so they can really be "The Church of What's Happenin' Now" (credit: Flip Wilson).

Does the article mention the tremendous increase in the number of cases of leprosy and tuberculosis that have occurred with the increase of illegal immigrants? Thought not. Who knows what other kind of bizarre diseases are coming in with the illegals. Legal immigrants must pass a health exam prior to admission.
FNC has been doing a segment on this periodically during the day today.

School children will be the hardest hit. Diseases long-since eradicated in this country such as leprosy and tuberculosis will be released into public school systems.

I've known some lutheran ministers who've said ELCA should just remove the L from it's name since it has almost nothing to do with the Lutheran religion.
Rampant liberal social activism is one of the things that turned me off from the catholic church. Looks like ELCA is following suit to alienate as many Lutherans as possible.

This church needs to register as a lobbyist then and kiss its tax-exempt status goodbye.

Lots of different denominations are illegally enabling illegal immigration.
I don't care which religious or secular organizations are involved in it, I want them all prosecuted, stopped and punished.
Along with the any and all private entities that employ or otherwise enable illegals.
This country is closer to anarchy than most people seem to comprehend.

In May, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops announced an immigration project and last month endorsed a bill sponsored by Sens. John McCain, Arizona Republican, and Edward M. Kennedy, Massachusetts Democrat. Their bill would give illegal aliens a multistep path to citizenship and also create a new program for 400,000 new foreign workers a year, with the possibility of eventual citizenship. I've learned that the liberal church has been lost since the 1970's. Rotten fruit is now their harvest. Sin out, works programs in.

I was a session member in the Presbyterian Church. Most of the do-gooders were clueless. They did not understand cause-and-effect. Then the Session hired a minister that promoted homosexuality. The Church lost all of its members and is now defunct.

What's wrong with these Lutherans? Were they also part of the National Council of Churches that decades ago supported Marxist terrorists in Africa? They will lose membership and credibility.
