I want to know why the Commission did not tell us about this until now.

Fox...guards...henhouse

Otherwise, in late 1999-2000 the Clinton admin had other pressing priorities. There were determined to deal with another situation--frightfully dangerous Elian Gonzalez.

According to Weldon, Able Danger identified Atta, Marwan al-Shehhi, Khalid al-Mihdar and Nawaf al-Hazmi as members of a cell the unit code-named "Brooklyn" because of some loose connections to New York City.

Weldon said that in September 2000 Able Danger recommended that its information on the hijackers be given to the FBI "so they could bring that cell in and take out the terrorists." However, Weldon said Pentagon lawyers rejected the recommendation because they said Atta and the others were in the country legally, so information on them could not be shared with law enforcement.

Makes no sense. If they were members of a terrorist group, and didn't reveal that information, they weren't in the country legally, but under false pretenses. If I find out the guy next door is a mass murderer from Lower Slobovia, I'm not going to keep the information to myself just because he's in the country on a "valid" visa.

"Man, Gorelick is giving Janet Reno and Helen Thomas some real competition in the looks department."

Have you taken another look at either Reno and Helen Thomas recently? (and be sure to wear welders' goggles for heaven's sake)

Breitweiser is scheduled to be on tomorrow's edition of Chris Matthews' Yackball, along with two yet to be named Sept. 11 commission members.

He revealed the information on the House floor in June 2005. Apparently we weren't listening, and the MSM didn't want to bring it up unless it had to since it wasn't Bush's fault.

"we seem to have a current DOJ that could care less."

Comes straight down from the #1 man who said of the Clinton shortly after being elected, "The past is the past"...

And then came along the Tsunami and the "son" Bubba Herbert W. never had.

"And again- where the eff was Richard dickie Clarke while all this was going down???"

If you says his name as Richard dickie Clark-e, it rhymes.
It's a fool's name for a total fool.

Well. If the MSM pursues this rather than ignores it ( and they have already shown some interest ), my hunch would be that Richard Clarke has provided them with something they can beat Bush up with.

If Kristen is seen on the Today Show in the near future, demanding an investigation into this, it will remove all doubt that they feel it benefits Democrats.

Interesting. I wouldn't expect this to be a slam dunk for Republicans at this point.

This is potentially EXPLOSIVE on a true 'nuclear' scale. If could ever be shown Sandy Burgler nabbed documents to cover up knowledge of the Clinton administration knowing about Atta and his bandits Al Queda ties, it truly would be scandal worthy of round-the-clock treatment.

The sad thing is, the Dems would immediately be on every Media outlet claiming it didn't matter, that Bush should've known, blah-blah... and the Media will do their part as a transcription service and facilitator of the Democrat anti-American agenda.

It's disgusting that she's been part of the 9/11 commission considering her key roll in ensuring intelligence gathering and sharing *would* fail.

Well of course they want the claims pursued!!! They've got egg and political smears all over their faces from their cover-up of this screwed up mess!!! They tried for moral equivalence between the Clinton and Bush administrations and that cannot be accomplished!!!

They came awfully close, however... The Hitlery, Janet & Jamie gang just about pulled it off!!!

It would be much more than that and I think you know. How could very serious criminal penalties be avoided for these people? This would on a Aldrich Ames or J. Walker level of betrayal.

That's the same question Rush was asking today .. and the same question I was asking yesterday when I first heard about. And .. what did Gorelick know about all of this .. and did Gorelick stop the staffers from revealing it ..??
