No. Ben Veniste and Gorelick were put on the commission by Clinton to make sure the fingers didn't point to him. Just like Sandy Bergler went to the National Archives to retrieve and destroy specific, incriminating documents.

I'm with you. However, there may be some strategery at play here. What I can't figure is why the NY Slimes broke the story. In any event, sure makes the 9-11 Commission look like idiots or, in the case of the two you mentioned, cover up hacks (or worse)...

Can you refresh my memory on this? Why was Clinton able to put people on the 9-11 commission?

And I agree that there's something very odd about Bush in that he first protects Sandy Burglar after Burglar stole those documents from the National Archives, then doesn't pursue these activities.
