Sounds fair to me. And trust me, I'm Jewish and I don't like how easily 'anti-semite' is thrown around by some people. (Foxman, I'm looking your way. *shakes a fist*) I do think that Jews have historically gotten more than their fair share of misery from other people, though. And I think we're seeing a slight resurgence. Nothing too serious, though, so long as there are decent people who have learned to stand up for themselves and their friends and their morals and values. Which is why I love FR.
A country should always take care of its own national interests first, but it should protect its long term interests. Nor should it do anything grossly immoral. Also, for the record, I'm Canadian and we have 5 parties. Which effectively means we have 1 party which rules like tyrants and are never threatened because all the other votes are split and there's no other 'centrist' (by Canadian standards) party. Past a certain point, or with an apathetic or highly partisan population, more parties just hurts you. Look at Italy and Spain, which have tens of parties. I believe Italy has 50+ in fact.
Having never experienced multi-party government, I guess I have this naive vision of coalitions working together for the best possible outcomes.
Frustration leading to absurdity? ;-)
