Michael Schiavo Poised To Sue Caregivers

CLEARWATER - Michael Schiavo has asked a court to waive the two-year statute of limitations on filing a medical malpractice lawsuit against one or more of his deceased wife's caregivers.

Terri Schiavo, 41, died March 31 after her feeding tube was removed after a seven-year court battle.

Schiavo's attorney in this case, Mark Perenich, said he was not able to discuss the proposed lawsuit behind Tuesday's request for an extension of the two-year statute of limitations.

By law, medical malpractice lawsuits must be filed within two years of the alleged misconduct unless an extension is granted.

In October 2003, Terri Schiavo's feeding tube was removed on court order. Doctors reinserted it on orders from Gov. Jeb Bush.

Honestly, since you are in the medical field, and if you have the time, you may very well be interested in reading what the "good" docs are saying/discussing/"consesusing" at the Presidential Bioethics Commission, in the link I provided earlier. From my limited readings, this Dr. Rowley seems most hell bent on getting rid of the elderly/disabled who are such "drains" on our society. But you would be surprised, also, how cavalier they are in these discussions, too. Also, Charles Krauthammer (yes, who's on FOX) is also on the current Commission. How's that?

Poor, poor Michael. A man who commited adultery (admitted under oath), tried to murder his wife by denying her the medicine she needed for an excruciatingly painful infection (admitted under oath), broke his legal promise to care for her the rest of his life and embezzled her medical therapy trust fund (confirmed in court filings and records), took the wedding rings off her finger to make jewelry for himself (admitted under oath), denied her all therapy and rehabilitation for thirteen years (admitted under oath), denied her visits from her own family (admitted under oath) and then killed her in front of the whole world... poor, poor, Michael, my heart aches for all he's suffered.

But there's still the question, how did Terri "collapse"? Sure looks as if poor, poor Michael strangled her.

A friend of mine had a simular experience with hospice and I no longer send donations in lieu of flowers because of it.

Fla AG Crist opens a 1951 double homicide case, a civil rights case. Terri had no civil rights in the years 1990 through 2005. He was in on the plan so he couldn't investigate THAT.

What are we missing re: Doc. Cranford. Here it is freepers & lurkers....

Dr. Cranford was the so called INDEPENDENT EXPERT WITNESS in Terri's case. If he so, INDEPENDENT, why is he going to Minneapolis with MICHAEL SCHIAVO AND with the so called independent GAL picked by JEB BUSH?

They're all going to Minnesota to be hailed as "heroes". The more they act like conquering heroes, the more they are exposed and the more Judge Greer looks like the back end of a mule and the judicial despot that he is.

Jodi's mom died in HINO's house the summer of 2004 is my recollection of cancer. She was the one guarding Terri in 2003 so nobody would save her. Terri outlived her.

Don't hold me to end of summer because a lot has happened since that time.

And right after Terri died, the hospice staff and the attorneys encircled Terri's bed and performed some kind of ritual over her.

They are modern day boogey men.

I think some hospices are taking people who ARE NOT TERMINAL, who need help but are speaking and eating. After after about a week, suddenly, they are failing and incoherent. Relatives in the past mistakenly believed their family member went fast even though they looked good the week or two earlier. I heard the horror stories outside of the Vigil. People escaped hospices with their loved ones because the hospices were intent on going through with starvation/dehydration and didn't even want to give up the patients to their family members!

They are not helping terminal patients with end of life care. They are causing deaths. (the bad ones like Terri's).
