CLEARWATER - Michael Schiavo has asked a court to waive the two-year statute of limitations on filing a medical malpractice lawsuit against one or more of his deceased wife's caregivers.
Terri Schiavo, 41, died March 31 after her feeding tube was removed after a seven-year court battle.
Schiavo's attorney in this case, Mark Perenich, said he was not able to discuss the proposed lawsuit behind Tuesday's request for an extension of the two-year statute of limitations.
By law, medical malpractice lawsuits must be filed within two years of the alleged misconduct unless an extension is granted.
In October 2003, Terri Schiavo's feeding tube was removed on court order. Doctors reinserted it on orders from Gov. Jeb Bush.
I tried to keep this private, but you choose not to. I think you're an ass. And Cyborg is way too good for you. I guess I won't be at the wedding.
You tried to HIDE in private. You failed. You now have become tiresome.
But your promised apologies (I will note for the record) have yet to be tendered.
you have major issues and I hope Cyborg knows all of them before you marry.
What in the world could the medical malpractice be, given that for years the hospice was just following court or, before that, Michael's orders?

If only on this issue, the emotional stuff could be dialed down into the rational zone. I was conflicted about so much about this case. But at some point, it is time to take in the lessons, and try to make public policy about these cases a bit better, and stop relitigating what has been litigated.
You should not intrude into the private life of posters in a public and caustic way. That is cruel and unusual. Petronski dislikes me, or at least my views, maybe both, very much, I might add, for his own reasons. That is his right. That does not give me license to intrude on his private as opposed to public life. I am quite disappointed.
I have never in my long tenure at FR ever posted this, but this thread should be nuked, and erased from the public record. It just suddenly went bad, very bad, very noisome, very cruel, very embarrassing. JMO.
Yeah, vaguely threatening email like that is out of line. Sounds like a a hildy insult is world ending, by her estimation.... hmmm...
Hey! Hildy! Since I'm not getting married anytime soon, would you insult me please? Thanks in advance.
No it isn't! It's MY fault! MINE! MINE! MINE! and you can't have it! errr.... what was it?
Nah, the memory hole is on the blink tonite.
Only one obsessed maniac per thread, please. I'm the obsessed maniac here, and everyone's character flaws are all my fault. Find your own thread to be an obsessed maniac on.
Now that's funny. It reminds me that Terri once had a doctor who had her best interests at heart, and wouldn't go along with torturing her to death. So Michael got a second opinion.
I guess he's suffering from soul death. Is that on the list of maladies that Florida considers grounds for removal from the human race?
B-b-but I waaaaaaaant to be an obsessed maniac so much! Must be my character flaw... oops... it really IS your fault! But something must be my fault! Something? Anything?
