Did I miss something?
Like someone else said earlier...this would be a lot tougher than Iraq.

The Iranians hate their government more than the Iraqis did Sadaam. You take out their military and the Iranian government has nothing to secure its ruling position. The result is revolution.
That some FR folks missed some days in school when World Geography was studied?
IMO it would be a lot tougher than Iraq because half of it is mountainous. As for the population rising up and helping us depose the government, I wouldn't get my hopes up. They say blood is thicker than water, is so the Muslim culture is thicker than blood.

Indeed it is, unless the Israelis enter into the fray too and help us for once. We can't continue having our boys killed in a proxy war. At one point Israel has to use its own military.
How so?
Iran would be crushed. Even Saddam went crazy on them, and when it all went South on him, Iraq held off Iran's repeated invasion attempts without losing an inch of ground.
The death toll to iran was staggering.
We would achieve control of the skies in a heartbeat, and after that its all downhill for Iran.
It would probably come to be known as the Iranian turkey shoot.
