I just read one of Harry's more recent threads,
the one about buying a pony. In some ways Harry
reminds me a bit of the artist Henry Darger. Harry
also reminds me of a friend from the deep South who
was always saying outrageous things to see if people
took him literally. The more people took him literally,
the more outrageous he got. I think that's the kind of
guy Harry was, bless his soul. May he find peace.

I will agree with you that child porn is disgusting.
Maybe you've never used the internet to look a naughty pictures. I have. I know a lot of other people who have also, including some who are very "resepectable" in the course of their normal, everyday lives. This includes several females.
In the course of looking, I've downloaded some images of girls who looked to me to be under 18. I didn't go specifically looking for those, but they came up. I will admit that there is a certain fascintation there on my part. Young girls who are going through puberty and so forth are interesting to most guys, I think. You almost cannot help but want to look at their bodies. They are lovely. Like a budding rose is.
I always deleted those files as soon as I got them. But I did get them and I did look at them.
In my mind, it is a far cry to be interested in looking at picture of a 14 y.o. girl with budding breasts than to go searching for pictures of 7 y.o. girls getting raped.
There is *no* evidence that Westerfield did the latter. Maybe he did the former. If he did, there are a whole heck of lot of us out here who have done the same thing.
If there was evidence that he'd done the latter, I'd give you a point here.
You get no points. The "porn" evidence is nothing more than prejudicial. It is nothing. It should never have been allowed to be presented.

No offense, but it's pretty far out there to say some of the things that Harry did in his posts.
I don't have girls, but I still find his "pony" posts and his story about the young basketball player and the neighbor girl kinda creepy. I don't know if he did anything wrong, but given his own statements about how child pornography is wrong, I don't think he would post that stuff just to pull people's legs.
He was conflicted, at best, but near as I can tell, there is nothing to show that there was worse. However, he IS dead, and I hope his comments were just that...comments, and nothing further. I, too, hope he will rest in peace, and that he was right with God when he went.
Flame away if you must, I don't care.
