CAMP BLUE DIAMOND, AR RAMADI, Iraq – Iraqi Security Force soldiers and Marines from Regimental Combat Team-2 discovered a bomb in a building in Haqliniyah during Operation Quick Strike August 8 .

Three 155 mm artillery rounds, weighing more than 100 pounds apiece, were wired to a desk inside the building. Marines determined that the explosives could not be removed safely from the building. The bomb was destroyed in place.

This morning, Marines discovered a car bomb factory in northern Haqliniyah. There were six vehicles rigged with explosives in varying stages of completion. Typically, terrorists drive the completed car bombs to populated locations and set them to detonate at specific time. Car bombs can also be used by suicide bombers to attack specific landmarks or people. All of the rigged vehicles were destroyed and secondary explosions were observed by the Marines.

In a separate incident today, Iraqi soldiers and Marines found five roadside bombs in close proximity to one another on a road in Haqliniyah. The explosives were a combination of artillery rounds and improvised bombs. All of the ordnance were destroyed in place with no casualties to coalition forces or civilians or damage to property.

There have been no small-arms attacks against Iraqi soldiers or Marines reported in the last 48 hours.

Iraqi Forces and Marines continue Operation Quick Strike. The intent of the operation is to interdict and disrupt terrorists and foreign terrorists' presence in the Haditha, Haqliniyah, and Barwanah areas. The units continue to conduct targeted raids against suspected terrorist safe havens.

Currently, 27 suspected terrorists are being detained for questioning.

More information on the operation will be released as it becomes available.

Thanks for the Positive war news. The LSM here and abroad refuse to report any progressive stories. We pretty much have to depend on alternative means to receive our news.

Thanks for post.
"Iraqi Forces and Marines continue Operation Quick Strike. The intent of the operation is to interdict and disrupt terrorists and foreign terrorists' presence in the Haditha, Haqliniyah, and Barwanah areas. The units continue to conduct targeted raids against suspected terrorist safe havens."

They failed to mention the Army Stryker Brigade on the north/east side of the river. This operation is going to continue, The Marines will operate on west side of river, our Army on the east side. Iraqi Army elements will work with both forces on both sides of river all along the river
from Ar Ramadi up to and beyong Al Quaim. No more rest or safe houses will permitted for the local and foreign insurgents. And if they escaped upward toward Mosul they will be hit. And if they escape westward other Marine Bn's will nab em. This is the game for the next few months. Perhaps the "no named operation" should be coded Kick Their Butts". And don't think Izzat el Douri and Abu Musab al-Zarqawi have not got the bad news handed down to them.

I was thinking the same thing. Positive news like this seems to be constantly suppressed for the sake of the MSM's agenda: 21st Century Vietnam. I'll never forgive how they turn their backs on our troops while giving encouragement to an enemy unworthy of the newsprint.

What happened to the "embedded" reporters?

The "embedded" reporter can't be trusted. He gets brainwashed by the military according to the LSM.

Yea. Like in some cases, reporters actually start to get a feel as how our military act, think, and for what reasons. Can't keep those types around they slip and give accurate reports. The L/MSM only want types like Kevin Sites to report. We do remember Kevin don't we?

But of course, when it comes to justifying why it's OK for Aztecs to have engaged in human sacrifice or why it's OK for Islamonazis to blow up innocent children, the kneejerk liberal immediately calls upon the rationale of looking at the issue through the eyes of the culture in question, rather than as an "objective" outsider. Same old situation ethics, as usual.

"Same old situation ethics, as usual."

Liberalism would never had stood a chance of gaining the grounds it has without what you mention. The Troskies, Lenins and others in that factitious soup bowl understood the value of using the downtrodden masses to gain support for their evil plots. Likewise the L/MSM being their offspring must use situation ethics. In their assume rigtheousness they fool many.

Funny how communism transitioned, during Marx's time, from "the workers will unite and revolt" to (during Lenin's time) "the workers need an elite class (us) looking out for their interests, in order to bring about this inevitable worker revolution." It is sooo patently transparent.

"It is sooo patently transparent."

Sadly it is not for many people, and governments.

I strongly recommend "The Rise and Fall of Socialism," by Joshua Muravchik. It lays out the history of the movement and how so many were suckered in. Should be mandatory reading.
