It's all about State's Rights, special interest groups, and voting block threats if certain legislations are not squashed in the cradle . .
This is funny too. Since when did the federal government start having 'power' over immigration?
====================================
The Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund had argued that the law was unconstitutional on the grounds that it usurps the federal government's power over immigration and naturalization.

As a REAL AMERICAN, I have a real hard time with the continued existence of the attitude that ILLEGAL MEXICANS have any protection whatsoever under our system of laws.
The pressure continues to build...

I guess they'll just have to take us to the international criminal court, or some such.

Well France and Britain are getting on board the problem real fast -- our weak-ass politicians had better start getting with it too.

Well, you would think so. I'm not holding my breath.
Sometimes I half-wish there was a national initiative process. The first issue I'd like to see passed, is to line every friggen one of our federal elected officals, have them bend over and take two or three stiff kicks to the hind side.
"Get your damn act tegether or we'll be back."

We shouldn't relinquish any of our powers to international courts, boards, committees or any other cobbled-together excuse for hijacking our policies. I wish this administration would get that through their collective thick head.
Once it's gone it's almost impossible to get it back.
