Back in the 60's I had a friend who was a cop and also worked part time security at a resort.
One day at a bus stop in a small town, he grabbed a kid and pulled a .25 automatic out of the kids back pocket.
In North Carolina the gun laws were really strict. I later asked him what he did with the kid. He said he was a college student on his way home. He unloaded the gun and gave it back to him and told him to put it in his bags.
There are plenty of cops tho who would have tried to ruin the kids life permanently for exercising his constitutional rights.

There is many instances however of CCW, illegal carrying, and unarmed citizens coming to the aid of officers who are fighting suspect(s) or in trouble of sorts. Don't take this seriously, most officer are not against carrying.

Don't take this seriously, most officer are not against carryingThat's true. My neighbor is a PO. He would like to see a little more training on the part of people who legally carry. If you've chosen to carry, like myself, it's a huge responsibility and one should get all the training you can.

actually I think you have hit upon it.
If crime goes down, as it has in every jurisdiction with CCW, then the police have a harder time justifying their actions and demands for more and more money and exotic police toys.

The Constitution shall be never construed to prevent the people of the United States, who are peaceable citizens from keeping their own arms. Samuel Adams
Unfortunately, it has.

Crime will go down, so LEO's livelihood is at stake. They have a vested, conflicted intrest and their opinion is compromised and invalidated.

Green Bay Police Chief Craig Van Schyndle
Arming more people with more guns is not going to make us safer,
These people agree.Keep the citizens unarmed especially the petite pretty women.

Of course the police should realize that armed citizens have help many downed police in there time of need. Precisely - like that good soul who gave his life stopping the madman at that courthouse in Texas earlier this year.

What, did the Green Bay Police Department start hiring moonbats? Somebody needs to inform them that the Second Amendment is part of the Constitution.

My dad (a lieutenant of POlice in Milwaukee) and most of the cops he knows (like, street level officers, not the brass), support concealed carry, and would rather show up at robberies where the victim is walking around and the perp is lyin in a pool of blood.
