A prominent national Islamic civil rights and advocacy group today called on law enforcement authorities to treat an assault this morning on a Virginia Muslim woman as a hate crime.
The Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) reported that a 23-year-old Muslim woman, who is 8 months pregnant and wears and Islamic head scarf, said she was out for her morning walk in Arlington, Va., when three white men in a pick-up truck began screaming anti-Muslim and racist slurs at her. According to the victim, the men shouted, "You terrorist b- tch, go back to your country. . .You n-gger b-tch." (The woman is African-American.)
The truck drove away and then returned as the woman continued on her walk. One of the men, who was wearing military-style clothing, allegedly got out of the vehicle and began shoving the woman and preventing her from moving away. During the assault, he shouted, "You terrorist b-tch. . . We're going to kick you're a- s. . . you're nothing." The other men then called the attacker back to the truck and it sped off.
"We believe these types of incidents are the direct result of the growing level of virulent anti-Muslim rhetoric Americans are exposed to on the Internet, in newspaper editorial pages and on radio talk shows," said CAIR Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper. "Our nation's political and religious leaders must begin to challenge Islamophobic hate-mongers."
By my count I see you tossing out the 1st, 4th, 5th, 6th, 14th Amendments, as well as the Declaration of Independence.

So you still won't admit to avoiding what the article actually said. There is simply no justificatin for your repeated claims that it was an issue of "free speech" when the actual claim was that the woman had been physically assaulted.
I just don't care for comments that reek of smugness, elitism and no common sense thinking about the real world we live in.

Forgive me for saying this, but CAIR and Ibrahim Hooper should be destroyed before they destroy us.
CAIR has been exploting our laws to advance its terrorist ideology. I am getting more and more angry with all the ridiculous claims/complaints CAIR is making that muslims are assaulted, muslims are called names, muslims are peaceful etc etc.
We are not attacking Muslims. It is Muslims/CAIR/MPAC who are attacking us, our societies and our traditions day after day. Frankly I am very tried and pi$$ed with CAIR and Ibrahim Hooper. This ba$tard should be put to rest forever.
uh.... I know you are just venting but you might want to ask an admin to pull your post. While most of us do indeed have a problem with Islamic extremists we don't want do be making threats directed toward individuals. While he may well be a terrorist supporter you don't want to get sued or worse. Just not worth the hassle.
I have temporarily moved to this country only recently to head a small R&D group.Therefore, I am not too familiar with America/American English yet.
And moreover, most of the times before I post something having variant meanings, I have to think in my native language and then translate it into English which might probably make my posts appear a little confusing. However, as the time passes, I am sure I can improve!
In this particular case in my previous post, "destroyed" in English is equivalent to "Nikaal dey naa" or "Barbaad Kar Naa" in Hindi and "put to rest" in English is equivalent to "Muh Thod'h naa" or "Muh Band'h Karwaanaa". Both of these words mean to destroy or quiet some one from continuing to do what they do by denying the resources and facilities they have. Now, writing something like this previous long sentence is too exhausting!

You should try you own advice, sir smugness. Britain and France have it right, if the clerics preach hate for their society-deport them. Clean, simple and legal.
