He denies he's even interested, and a long list of political analysts have already written him off with the belief that the appearance of political nepotism would be too unseemly for voters to put the brother of the current president in the Oval Office. But in politics timing is everything, and as the clock advances towards 2008, things are starting to fall into place to give Jeb Bush the momentum he needs to win the White House. And this isn't contingent on Hillary Clinton emerging as the Democrats' nominee--though if she does, the path will be all the smoother for another Bush.
Let's first dispense with the idea that Jeb's biggest liability would be his last name. Since when does name recognition hurt in politics? It's true that many of this brother's political adversaries would simply cross out "George" in their campaign literature and ink in "Jeb" above it. MoveOn.org and other Democratic interest groups would find plenty of willing donors. George Soros would likely make another multimillion-dollar pledge to drive the Bushes from Washington. But then again, they did all that last time, and we aren't discussing who will challenge President Kerry.

i can tell by your response that florida politics is near and dear to your heart. before you waste your time formulating another one, I suggest you invest your faculties in imagining that some one, in fact a great many people, might not agree with you and might have good reasons for not doing so.
bye.
Oh give me a break! Got tin foil?
I'm outraged these idiots can even think they can compare Reagan to Clinton and defend the Bushes while basically slamming Reagan. It is infuriating to say the least. Hell I'm attacked even when I say there is a little good in everyone they take that to mean I love Clinton. Hell, lets go live in LA LA land with that stretch of the imagination.
These folks trying to push Jeb are from the Left wing of the GOP. They've had their 8 years in the sun - it's time to move on.
I hate to say it, because I'm sure gov. Bush is a fine man and might make a good President, but I just don't like the idea of a dynasty. We've had a good run with the family, let's quit while we're ahead and pass it on to someone else.
Paging Dr. Rice...
They blame Goldwater for losing in 1964 - you know, that famous truly conservative speech he gave. Somehow, the fact that the media essentially chanted "Goldwater is going to start WW3" is a fact that is conveniently forgotten by Country Club liberal wing. Noooooo .... we can't have radical Republican ideas! The Far Right and all that! /sarcasm
My bet is on McCain and that he will win.
Oh God no........
I'm not even on the far right I just want a financially conservative Republican President. I just don't want my money thrown down some rat hole of a prescription drug program or any other nonsense programs that Bush has funded since he took office.
totally agree. even if he did impress me I would not want him to do it just on principle.

That goes to show just how out of touch the "bots" are. You would have been labelled a moderate back in Reagan's day, but now the "bots" make you look well to the Right by comparison. Look, I voted for W in both 2000 and 2004. I helped fund his campaign. But now is the time to build upward from our foothold. If ever there was a time to move off the squishy middle (or is it actually, slightly LEFT of center?) the time is now.
If that happens, then I think *I* will move to France! LOL! ...
Not a bad thing to investigate. Any notion regarding his politics?
He was a general. He's honorable.
At this point, that looks good to me.
What does that have to with anything I said?
Where did JohnnyZ mention Reagan? Please cite the post number to prove you are not lying.
You don't have to agree with anything JohnnyZ said to know that Sentis is just making things up that have nothing to do with the discussion, then feigning phony outrage over things that were never said in the first place. Read the posts. Can you find where JohnnyZ ever mentioned Reagan?
Ahhh ...... now we begin to see why you hate George W. for one and DEFINITELY Jeb, a socially conservative Catholic.
Still got a Specter for President sticker on your rustbucket?
ROFL ..... Sentis girl you on crack baby!
He was just the one foaming at the mouth about how self made men were not good presidents and that Reagan was less of a president because he had been an actor and that that didn't make him a self made man?
Nope again!
Or was he the one the inferred that the rich make better presidents because Clinton was a self made man and that made selfmade men somehow lesser men than the Bush bunch?
