We have a GREAT alternative to Hillary vs. Hillary lite:
2- Please explain to former U.S. Senator Al DAmato (R-NY) that he was unelectable and should have stepped aside for electable RINO Jacob Javits. You also might want to explain this concept to former U.S. Senator James Buckley (R-NY)
3- An alleged mob lawyer husband is the EXACT reason why Pirro s attempts to go after the criminal Clinton corruption will backfire as the media skews her own family scandals. Cox and Spencer look like saints in comparison.
4- Pirro, as Westchester County District Attorney who has NEVER been involved in campaigns before, is MUCH better suited to run for the OPEN seat of Attorney General of New York (where the NY GOP desperately NEEDS a credible candidate), than try to seek the U.S. Senate as an entry level position. Cox and Spencer are far more familiar with politics being a bloodsport.
5- The idea that Jeanine Pirro is a household name in NY with star power is pretty silly. Far more people have heard of Richard Nixons son in law than a district attorney from Westchester. And the fact that Mayor John Spencer, a conservative Republican, is venerated in the largely Democrat suburban area of Yonkers, gives him far more star power than Hillary. As a beloved Mayor and decorated Vietnam War vet, he is the very much the suburban version of the Rudy and the kind of saavy pit bull who can put the Clintons in their place on the campaign trail.
HILLARY: A 30-YEAR CAREER ATTACKING AMERICAN TROOPS
Hillary dishonors our troops and Voted YES on granting normal trade relations status to Vietnam. In Washington to begin forming a campaign team, John Spencer said Clinton's questioning of Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld at a Senate Armed Services hearing Thursday constituted a "thinly veiled attack" on President Bush and was another example of how Democratic rhetoric on the war is dividing the country. Clinton, a Democrat, asked Rumsfeld to repudiate White House Deputy Chief of Staff Karl Rove's remarks this week that liberals are not tough enough on America's enemies. She said the remarks, made at a Conservative Party dinner in New York City, were "insulting" and "disturbing" to people like herself who had "legitimate questions" about the administration's conduct of the war while supporting it. She says we all love our troops. But then to be silent when politicians like (Sen.) Dick Durbin, Howard Dean and Ted Kennedy and John Kerry attack the president, that's really aiding and comforting the enemy," Spencer said. Spencer said he was particularly incensed that Clinton brought up the Vietnam War and its divisiveness while questioning Rumsfeld. Clinton said that she was old enough to remember how deeply divided the country was "and never want to see that again." But Spencer took issue, saying that as a Vietnam veteran he was "appalled that she would raise the fact that our nation was divided during Vietnam, and then proceed to divide us further today." This is just another example of Senator Clinton's attempts to have it both ways; She voted for the war in Iraq, and then bashes President Bush about the war every opportunity she gets. It should have occurred to Hillary that her remarks demoralize the troops, since the vast majority believe in the Iraq cause.
" I've always run for, and with, both Republican AND
Conservative Party support. That's how I've won before and that's how we need to win
again. If you're like me you're tired of watching our party lose in New York. We haven't
won anything new in New York State for the past 11 years. Instead we have lost our US
Senate seat, our Attorney General, Congressional seats, State Senate and Assembly seats
, County Executives in Nassau, Suffolk and Westchester and too many other races. Why?
Because some Republicans have forgotten who we are and what we stand for. New York
Republicans have won when they proudly run on our issues and conservative Republican
values. That's how Ronald Reagan, Al D'Amato, Jim Buckley, and even George Pataki
all first got elected. Liberal Republicans just can't win in New York anymore. And they
certainly can't out liberal Sen. Clinton. I'm proud of my record as Mayor of Yonkers. We
cut the income tax surcharge by 2/3rds and the real estate transfer tax by 2/3rds as well
and we kept property taxes low with the first year with no property tax increase in 30
years. We brought back hundreds of millions in investments and thousands of jobs. We
took back our schools and housing from an out of control federal judge. We cut crime.
And in our state's 4th largest city, Yonkers, a Democrat city, running as a Conservative
Republican, I won twice by landslides. But some misguided Republican leaders think we
need to nominate someone who holds the same positions as Hillary Clinton on some
important issues. I think they're wrong. That's why we've been losing ground for 11 years
and if they have their way, the core of our party will have no choice and stay home and
we'll lose again."
-- Mayor John Spencer of Yonkers
Pirro is a pro-choice woman who even backs Medicaid funding for abortion and a supporter of gun control, affirmative action AND gay civil unions.
-- The Hill | 6/27/05 | Dick Morris, Quoted in Post #37, by Mia T
I'm pro-life. I was adopted and didn't meet my birth mother until I was 32.You can be sure I'll do a lot more to protect life. I will work to end illegal immigration. My positions
cut taxes to create jobs. New Yorkers pay too much already. I strongly support our troops in Iraq and I support the strongest measures to win the war on terror. Last year I traveled with fellow Vietnam Vets to the Democrat convention in Boston to publicly criticize John Kerry's liberal policies. These are the kind of issues I'll raise and win on in New York.
-- Mayor John Spencer
Remember - Just say NO to RINOs!
YOUR POINT 1: Your poll analysis is fallacious. The polls today reflect relative name recognition and not much more. YOUR POINT 2: Your counterexample is laughable. D'Amato's defeat of incumbent Jacob Javits in the 1980 Senate Republican primary, and his win in the general election, are hardly examples of a highminded ideological victory. YOUR POINT 3: Married to the same husband, Jeanine Pirro got elected to office, aggressively fought crime, reduced crime, fought for the vulnerable, the abused, battered, raped. The contrast with missus clinton's zipper-hoisted "career" of corruption and abuse could not be more stark. YOUR POINT 4: Either Pirro is 'married to the Mob' or she ain't. YOUR POINT 5: Look, my purpose isn't to knock your man. He sounds like a fine fellow.
