As much as Mia T would like to forget about it, the campaign will NOT be Pirro "vs. Hillary" UNLESS Ms. Pirro wins the primary. And unfortuantely for Mia, there is a far better candidate in the primary than the pro-abort, anti-gun liberal Pirro who's running 40 points behind Hilderbeast.

We have a GREAT alternative to Hillary vs. Hillary lite:

1- If the goal is "stop Hillary" before she gets her claws on the oval office, then the only solution is "draft Rudy". He’s the ONLY candidate who would be LIKELY to “beat Hillary”. ANYONE else, whether they are Ed Cox, Jeannie Pirro, or John Spencer, will face an UPHILL battle. Polls have shown Hillary gets the EXACT same percentage of support whether the nominee is RINO Pirro or conservative Cox. Therefore if we have a second tier candidate we might as well have one who stands up for GOP values and has some political track record. If you can find ANY poll showing Pirro polling even with the Hilderbeast and can therefore “beat Hillary” (while Cox and Spencer lose in a landslide), feel free to let me know and I’ll switch my alligance to Pirro. Otherwise I repeat my assessement that ANY Republican other than Rudy faces an uphill battle.

2- Please explain to former U.S. Senator Al D’Amato (R-NY) that he was unelectable and should have “stepped aside” for “electable” RINO Jacob Javits. You also might want to explain this concept to former U.S. Senator James Buckley (R-NY)

3- “An alleged mob lawyer husband” is the EXACT reason why Pirro ‘s attempts to go after the criminal Clinton corruption will backfire as the media skews her own family’ scandals. Cox and Spencer look like saints in comparison.

4- Pirro, as “Westchester County District Attorney” who has NEVER been involved in campaigns before, is MUCH better suited to run for the OPEN seat of Attorney General of New York (where the NY GOP desperately NEEDS a credible candidate), than try to seek the U.S. Senate as an entry level position. Cox and Spencer are far more familiar with politics being a bloodsport.

5- The idea that “Jeanine Pirro” is a household name in NY with “star power” is pretty silly. Far more people have heard of Richard Nixon’s son in law than a district attorney from Westchester. And the fact that Mayor John Spencer, a conservative Republican, is venerated in the largely Democrat suburban area of Yonkers, gives him far more “star power” than Hillary. As a beloved Mayor and decorated Vietnam War vet, he is the very much the suburban version of the Rudy and the kind of saavy pit bull who can put the Clintons in their place on the campaign trail.

SPENCER: A 30-YEAR CAREER ATTACKING AMERICA’S ENEMIES
At the height of the Vietnam War, when others were avoiding the draft, John Spencer chose to enlist in the United States Army to serve his country. It was as a young Infantry re and the importance getting beside you. Spencer was awarded the Bronze Star and Combat Infantryman ’s This awesome responsibility of leading men whose very survival depended on him, and molded him into the leader he is today, a breath of fresh air to New York politics. In 1996,Spencer was honored when the heavily Democratic voters of Yonkers, New York ’s fourth largest city, elected him for Mayor, not once, but twice. In his second term, he won with well over 60%of the vote. John Spencer was proud to serve as Mayor of this demographically diverse city for eight years, which saw an unprecedented rebirth in the quality of life during his tenure. As mayor, he stood up for what was right for the people he represented. What others thought of as impossible, he saw as challenges to overcome. He took a stagnant city that was in decline and changed its image to a city of progress. He revitalized the waterfront, cut taxes that others said couldn’t ’t be cut and improved services. . Spencer favors real education reform, saving Social Security and saving Social Security and saving Social Security Medicare, I improving health care, better homeland security, winning the war on terror, providing a stable and self-defensible Iraq, ending illegal immigration, greater efforts to reduce abortion and making sure every child is wanted and raised by a loving family. New Yorkers deserve a U.S. Senator who will work night and day on these issues for them. While Hillary uses her Senate seat as a bus stop on the way to the White House, to John Spencer the Senate would be the opportunity of a lifetime to serve the people of the State and the Nation. He’ll be a compassionate and caring public servant who will work tirelessly for seniors, families and the hard-working people of New York to improve their quality of life. His only aspiration is to be the best senator New York State has ever had and he ’ll put the needs of the people FIRST.

HILLARY: A 30-YEAR CAREER ATTACKING AMERICAN TROOPS
Hillary dishonors our troops and Voted YES on granting normal trade relations status to Vietnam. In Washington to begin forming a campaign team, John Spencer said Clinton's questioning of Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld at a Senate Armed Services hearing Thursday constituted a "thinly veiled attack" on President Bush and was another example of how Democratic rhetoric on the war is dividing the country. Clinton, a Democrat, asked Rumsfeld to repudiate White House Deputy Chief of Staff Karl Rove's remarks this week that liberals are not tough enough on America's enemies. She said the remarks, made at a Conservative Party dinner in New York City, were "insulting" and "disturbing" to people like herself who had "legitimate questions" about the administration's conduct of the war while supporting it.” She says we all love our troops. But then to be silent when politicians like (Sen.) Dick Durbin, Howard Dean and Ted Kennedy and John Kerry attack the president, that's really aiding and comforting the enemy," Spencer said. Spencer said he was particularly incensed that Clinton brought up the Vietnam War and its divisiveness while questioning Rumsfeld. Clinton said that she was old enough to remember how deeply divided the country was "and never want to see that again." But Spencer took issue, saying that as a Vietnam veteran he was "appalled that she would raise the fact that our nation was divided during Vietnam, and then proceed to divide us further today." This is just another example of Senator Clinton's attempts to have it both ways; She voted for the war in Iraq, and then bashes President Bush about the war every opportunity she gets. It should have occurred to Hillary that her remarks demoralize the troops, since the vast majority believe in the Iraq cause.

" I've always run for, and with, both Republican AND
Conservative Party support.
That's how I've won before and that's how we need to win
again. If you're like me you're tired of watching our party lose in New York. We haven't
won anything new in New York State for the past 11 years. Instead we have lost our US
Senate seat, our Attorney General, Congressional seats, State Senate and Assembly seats
, County Executives in Nassau, Suffolk and Westchester and too many other races. Why?
Because some Republicans have forgotten who we are and what we stand for. New York
Republicans have won when they proudly run on our issues and conservative Republican
values. That's how Ronald Reagan, Al D'Amato, Jim Buckley, and even George Pataki
all first got elected. Liberal Republicans just can't win in New York anymore. And they
certainly can't out liberal Sen. Clinton.
I'm proud of my record as Mayor of Yonkers. We
cut the income tax surcharge by 2/3rds and the real estate transfer tax by 2/3rds as well
and we kept property taxes low with the first year with no property tax increase in 30
years. We brought back hundreds of millions in investments and thousands of jobs. We
took back our schools and housing from an out of control federal judge. We cut crime.
And in our state's 4th largest city, Yonkers, a Democrat city, running as a Conservative
Republican, I won twice by landslides. But some misguided Republican leaders think we
need to nominate someone who holds the same positions as Hillary
Clinton on some
important issues. I think they're wrong. That's why we've been losing ground for 11 years
and if they have their way, the core of our party will have no choice and stay home and
we'll lose again."

-- Mayor John Spencer of Yonkers

According to Mia T, we need:
A Westchester County leader who has star power in [his] own right…eloquence, intelligence, independent achievements, etc., all of which serve only to underscore what an ugly, unqualified, zipper-hoisted fishwife Clinton is…

Pirro is a pro-choice woman who even backs Medicaid funding for abortion and a supporter of gun control, affirmative action AND gay civil unions.”
-- The Hill | 6/27/05 | Dick Morris, Quoted in Post #37, by Mia T

I'm pro-life. I was adopted and didn't meet my birth mother until I was 32.You can be sure I'll do a lot more to protect life. I will work to end illegal immigration. My positions…cut taxes to create jobs. New Yorkers pay too much already. I strongly support our troops in Iraq and I support the strongest measures to win the war on terror. Last year I traveled with fellow Vietnam Vets to the Democrat convention in Boston to publicly criticize John Kerry's liberal policies. These are the kind of issues I'll raise and win on in New York.
-- Mayor John Spencer

YOUR POINT 1:

Your poll analysis is fallacious. The polls today reflect relative name recognition and not much more.

As one might guess, clinton's name recognition is 100%. This does not bode well for clinton. Any vote she doesn't already have, she will not get. Conversely, many voters know 0% about the clintons' abuses (of women, of power, etc.), know 0% about their utter failures (especially as it concerns terrorism, 9/11 and, indeed, the first WTC bombing, which is, it seems to me, a uniquely pesky issue for New Yorkers).

Pirro's name recognition, OTOH, is only 30%. She has a lot of potential to increase those numbers; and she will.

As I noted elsewhere, if Jeanine's numbers look threatening by Fall, hillary will drop out of the race and do so before her entire (meaningless, 100%-name-recognition) lead evaporates--this according to Dick Morris (O'Reilly 8-8-05).

It is telling that clinton only now has responded to a challenger. clinton obviously regards Pirro as a real threat, as well she should. Pirro is everything clinton pretends to be.

YOUR POINT 2:

Your counterexample is laughable. D'Amato's defeat of incumbent Jacob Javits in the 1980 Senate Republican primary, and his win in the general election, are hardly examples of a highminded ideological victory.

In the primary, D'Amato took advantage not of Javits' RINO leanings -- (the term didn't even exist then) -- but rather of Javits' 1979 diagnosis of generally fatal amytrophic lateral sclerosis. Some victory.

What Javits did next actually reinforces my argument to coalesce. (See post 22.)

Javits went on to run on the Liberal Party ticket, splitting the left-wing vote in liberal New York with Democratic Congresswoman Elizabeth Holtzman, thereby enabling D'Amato's 45% plurality victory.

YOUR POINT 3:

Married to the same husband, Jeanine Pirro got elected to office, aggressively fought crime, reduced crime, fought for the vulnerable, the abused, battered, raped. The contrast with missus clinton's zipper-hoisted "career" of corruption and abuse could not be more stark.

We used to execute rapists. Today we elect them president?

YOUR POINT 4:

Either Pirro is 'married to the Mob' or she ain't.

You can fault her ideology, but you cannot fault her toughness. Please.

YOUR POINT 5:

Look, my purpose isn't to knock your man. He sounds like a fine fellow.

Jeanine may not yet be a household name; as I have argued in point 1, that is actually a plus at this stage of the game.

As for star power, most people, I believe, will agree that she undeniably has it.

Conversely, hillary's 'star power' is really name recognition. hillary is a dud. Even the clinton know that. (SCHEMA PINOCCHIO:how the clintons are handling the hillary dud factor)

WHY MISSUS CLINTON IS DANGEROUS
FOR THE CHILDREN
FOR AMERICA
FOR THE WORLD

They turned our bridge to the 21st century into a tunnel back into the 19th century. Back us out of that Republican tunnel, fill it in, go back across the bridge.... We'll have a giant celebration when we come back to Columbus in 2020. There's nothing more wonderful than making dreams come true.

issus clinton is a dud.

I could say she has all of bill clinton's baggage and none of his charm, except I don't find bill clinton charming. What she lacks, in my view, is lubricant. Snake oil. She grates.

It's more than simple dislike. You don't want to see her; and you definitely don't want to hear her.

Missus clinton is everyman's worst nightmare: ex-wife, fishwife, frigid wife, mother-in-law; worse, the abusive Nazi commandant in the Lina Wertmuller masterpiece. When she humiliates, which is always, she dons the military-issue undershirt, she grabs the whip.

The clintons are clearly aware of this problem and are attempting to mitigate it with veneer.

Their first ploy is to pushpoll to artificially jack up missus clinton's numbers; this is a relatively easy task, given a compliant press. This illusion of electability is intended to fool the voters, activate the herd mentality and ultimately fool the smart money of the David Geffen-Harold Ickes stripe.

It won't work. Missus clinton has 100% name recognition. Any vote she doesn't already have, she won't get. Conversely, many voters have 0% information on the clinton abuses of power and utter failures. From this it follows that many votes she has today, she won't have tomorrow.

Their second ploy is to conflate "bill" and "hillary." "The clintons" become a single construct. Missus clinton arrogates bill's "bridge to the 21st century " as "theirs." And, by lifting the lyrics straight from Pinocchio, she becomes "the man from 'hope'."

The danger here for missus clinton is that with the bridge and the hope come the abuses and the utter failures.

AFTERWORD:

Who in heaven's name is writing missus clinton's speeches? They make her sound like a cross between Pinocchio on Halcyon and a clueless tourist from Park Ridge, Illinois driving into Manhattan during rush hour. Oops.

And the plagiarizing... I mean, the clintons are shameless. And it isn't only Pinocchio.

In 2002, I wrote that the bridge to the 21st century was, arguably, clinton's most delusional conceit, that it overshot the mark by at least 1400 years.

To be fair, missus clinton's 19th-century reference is to that <yawn> retrograde 'retrograde Republicans' cliché, whereas my 7th-century reference is to the retrograde-in-fact islamofascist terrorists, whose jihadi declarations and acts of war against us the clintons willfully ignored for eight long years--allowing al Qaeda to grow exponentially in strength and reach, setting us up--very nicely, thank you--for 9/11 and its cataclysmic aftermath.
