Funding these day labor centers is like setting up taverns at drunk driving checkpoints.
Illegal - it has a meaning.
If they plan to ignore the law, then such politicians should just be honest and run on a platform of repealing those laws.
Let's see how many votes they get.

FYI: Your tax dollars hard at work > > funding day labor centers for illegal aliens.
What's wrong with that?
(I am hearing that in some of these 'day labor centers' that the illegal aliens are actually taxied to the work sites by local law enforcement. Does anyone have a link on any of that, please?)

Thank you, Mr. Kilgore, for daring to say that the law should be enforced and that taxpayer money should not be used to encourage illegal immigration, wage and safety law violations, and employer dodging of Social Security tax and state and Federal tax laws. Now, be prepared for the libs and illegal immigrant lobby to vilify you as a callous, racist, xenophobe.

Gate City Kilgore BUMP. He hasn't been in Richmond long enough to know political elites aren't supposed to speak this way. He still thinks he's an ordinary citizen, not a media whore. Pretty refreshing, isn't it?

The reason these kinds of sites are being considered is due to citizen (taxpayer) complaints.
Unions are against them because they take work away from members ($20-$50/hr) and steer them toward the day laborers ($7-$15/hr).
Hmmm. I wonder how much effect the day laborers have had on the decline of union membership and power.

"To use taxpayer dollars to make employment of those who are here illegally is to further encourage that illegal behavior," Kilgore said. Mr. Kilgore definitely understands the damage of illegal immigration on this country and the fiscal effects on us taxpayers.
