Oh Poop!
Libs will do everything to protect their Messiah- Kofi Annan!
Great post!
Thanks!
Hopefully, this is just the teeny tip of the iceberg.
July 18, BusinessWeek had a blockbuster, in depth expose on the shadow world of global oil traders- " The Rich Boys."
And their involvement with Saddam.
Which got zero attention.
Primarily because, IMHO, the main suspect is one Marc Rich.
The formerly " most wanted white collar criminal in US history " until his " controversial " pardon.
As an aside- according to BusinessWeek, the pardon can only be over turned by a Constitutional Amendment.
And once you read the article ( which is very detailed and very convoluted- lots of Arab names, shell companies and front companies ) no sane person can conclude that the Rich pardon was justified and it is criminal that the Clintons have not been held accountable for this travesty.
If Hillary was a Republican, this scandal would scuttle her candidacy.
Read this ( especially the last sentence ) and tell me your blood doesn't boil !
" Although Rich testified in writing in March, 2005, to a House committee investigating the U.N. program that he was not in any way active in the Oil-for-Food program, documents suggest that he bought Iraqi oil in 2001 from various front companies, which BusinessWeek has identified. This took place just one month after his pardon.
If so, it seems that Rich may have misled Congress.
The CIA, the Senate, and others have concluded that from September, 2000, until September, 2002,
buyers in the Oil-for-Food oil program had to pay illegal surcharges that Saddam used in part to buy weapons, though no documents show Rich made such payments.
Some investigators believe Iraqi insurgents are now using that money."
It is my personal opinion that both Clintons via Marc Rich have the blood of US soldiers on their hands.
It's occurred to me that there's a lot of stupid crap that goes on up there that people just aren't going to be willing to walk up and ask for to his face... Like "Hey John, how 'bout chipping in another couple meg on the remodeling project, after all, you Americans are rich!"
If the asker was lucky he might be greeted with gales of laughter. If not, he might get a pencil thrown at him.
There's a new sheriff in town. I wish he could ask TR for advice. I've been thinking I'd like to see a man like Bolton in the White House.
A definite 180 from the previous occupant of the Manhattan US Attorney's office :-)
Thank God for recess appointments. The lestist and the dems want to hog-tie Bush. I'm happy our forefathers had the smarts to consider the possibility of renegade senators.
I believe diplomatic immunity bites the dust if both the country you're trying to use it in, and your own country, agree that you don't have it anymore. Countries rarely agree to waive their citizens' diplomatic immunity, but it does happen. IIRC we have done this a few times with US servicemen who committed serious crimes while stationed overseas (like raping an adolescent girl in Japan).
From my FR homepage. :)
Arrest 'me all while your at it!
Maybe if we put up billboards across from the building telling these losers to pay their parking fines (last glance it was $21million) before they ask for any money from the US. Then take a photo of the UN building and the new billboard and publish it on the web.
I love this story.... this is how wars begin...
Without consulting the French? How "unilateral"!
Good.
