The husband of Terri Schiavo was honored by a group that advocates guardianship services for his years-long efforts to get his wife's feeding tube disconnected.
Michael Schiavo was given the Guardian of the Year Award by the Florida State Guardianship Association yesterday.
Terri Schiavo lived in a persistent vegetative state for 15 years before dying in March. She died after a protracted legal battle between her husband and her parents over her end-of-life wishes.
She died from dehydration after her feeding tube was disconnected.
A Franciscan friar who serves as the Schindler family spokesman Brother Paul O'Donnell said the award was offensive.
They said Michael Schiavo was a controversial choice, but they decided to honor him because of his commitment to honoring what he says was his wife's wish to not be kept alive artificially.
She was not dead until he killed her. She was not subhuman, or subanimal. She was a live human being, as the autopsy showed, for those of you too bullheaded to believe the doctors who examined her while she was alive, the lawyers who argued both sides of the case, the priests who ministered to her, the judges who denied her justice, her estranged husband who arranged her murder, or your own eyes and ears. They all agreed she was alive. What they disagreed on was whether or not she should remain alive.
You keep claiming she was dead, in spite of the fact that even those who joined together in killing her acknowledged that she was alive. The autopsy verified that claim. If you really believe it was right to torture her to death, why do you have to use lies to justify your position? Don't you believe your position can be justified with the truth?
You're also lying when you say the autopsy proved she wasn't abused. How many lies do you have to tell to justify your position?
Please stop lying. The autopsy confirmed the fact that she was not brain dead.
Then why didn`t she get up and feed herself. Give it up she`s gone.
What were the abuses?? and where is the proof that Michael did it over 15 years before. Time to get a life its over,done she`s gone forever stop the alligator tears and the whining.
So in other words, you already knew from the beginning that she was alive, disabled, and murdered. You just wanted the opportunity say hateful things.
Why is so important to you for Michael Schiavo to get away with murdering Terri? What's in it for you? Why are you so obsessed? Do you think this opens the door to some unspoken opportunity for you? Guess again.

If you believe that then you are as dimwitted as MS for visiting a dead person all these years. And hiring attorneys, etc.

A person would have to be hiding under a rock for the last three years not to know how he murdered her. He starved and dehydrated her to death. Where have you been hiding your head?
