So you want a Hillary clone as top Republican in the state?

You're right, but consider this: The Republican Party in New York hasn't had a successful candidate for statewide office in several generations who has been to the right of Karl Marx. New York is a socialist sh!t-hole, which is why Hillary came here in the first place -- the Democrat Party determined in 2000 that it was the only state in the U.S. with an open Senate seat where she had any chance of winning.

As an upstate NYer, I am not a political insider, but you have to realize this one fact. "Downstate NY" controls the entire state. Those of us in the rural areas are too few in number to vote our conservative principles, and have a chance of beating a liberal downstate candidate.

Anyone running on the republican ticket has to be to the left in the pubbie party to have a chance of winning in an election. Therefore, we hold our noses, and vote for the best rino we can.

Perhaps we should be thinking strategery here. If Pirro can handicap Hillary at all by running against her, that will (I can only hope) hurt Hillary's drive for the Whitehouse.

I want the pubbie candidate running against HIllary to be the one who can best "de-throne" the beast.

The Republican Party in New York hasn't had a successful candidate for statewide office in several generations who has been to the right of Karl Marx.

Dennis Vacco (successful until he told to Conservative Party to go F themselves, thereby handing the AG office to Spitzer) and George Pataki v.1994, for starters.

And running Karl Marx for office is not a good way to accomplish .... anything.

I agree with your statement, but Pirro is a good way to lose the race, unless you want Hillary to win. :-)

If you think the Democrats are vicious by going after Judge Robert children's adoption papers, imagine what they'll do to her knowing that her husband is in jail for tax evasion. This is from NewsMax:

Hillary Clinton Backers: We'll Pound Jeanine Pirro on Hubby

If Westchester County District Attorney Jeanine Pirro decides to run against Sen. Hillary Clinton next year, Clinton's backers are vowing to make Mr. Pirro's personal life a major campaign issue.

"How can we not bring it up?" a well-known Democratic consultant told the New York Post on Monday, referring to Albert Pirro's past conviction on tax evasion and an alleged association with a mob figure. LINK

And today the LA Times is already meeting its promise. (You need to cut and paste the link)

http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/politics/wire/sns-ap-pirro-profile,1,4358129.story?coll=sns-ap-politics-headlines&ctrack=1&cset=true

And from the same link:

“Still, when Pirro announced in May that she would run for some statewide office, the conventional wisdom was that she would probably lose to Clinton but could win if she ran for state attorney general.”

And the Quinnipiac poll has Hillary leading 63% over Pirro 29% LINK
