FALFURRIAS-- The president of the state's Minuteman Project visited Falfurrias on Sunday to map out a plan to protect the South Texas border from illegal immigrants. Al Garza says he was asked by ranchers to help out with the growing problem. Garza traveled all the way from Arizona to answer the call. He's here to help ranchers like Mike Bickers, who's seen the number of illegals on his property double in the past year.
"On a nightly basis and a daily basis there's large numbers sometimes one hundred to one hundred and fifty a night coming through my property," said Bickers.
Bickers says the immigrants destroy fences, litter, and at times have even managed to break into their home.
"But they pay a price, some of them by dying," said Garza. "I think it's terrible, it's inhumane."
Garza is now working with leaders from other Minuteman chapters across the country to establish a branch in Falfurrias, which would officially start in October. Group members have spent hours scouting areas that have become pipelines for illegal entry and drug smuggling. Garza says the Minutemen will set up an observation point along a stretch of 285 and FM 1329 in Brooks County, because the area is an ideal drop off sight for drug traffickers and also has plenty of brush for illegals to hide in.
"This is illegal, and the government has to do something about it," said Garza. Garza says once the project is in place, the group will report sightings of illegal immigrants to the Border Patrol.

I don't think we need the DHS to authorise what we are already doing. If the government gets invovled the next thing we know they will be doing things to render us ineffective, just like they are doing to the Border Patrol agents on the ground. If the government gets involved, I won't be participating.
Fellow Texans, it's time to "man/woman up" here. WE need more volunteers, 1 week, 1 weekend or 1 day. It ALL helps !!

You have a point there.
A lot of folks were happy to hear the ICE Chief (Bonner) call for the CD Corps, and were pretty bitter when DHS slapped him down a day later.
Maybe you're right, though...
"The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government,
1. The act of invading; the act of encroaching upon the rights or possessions of another; encroachment; trespass.
My 4x4 Club does some clean up when we are out an about.... a few months ago we came across six 55 gallon drums that had 3lt water bottles stacked and packed inside just west of Shafter & Marfa in Presido County. Nice little water cache with a 20ft piece of PVC pipe and a red flag stuck in the middle of the cans.
Those drums are a lot easier to pick up as the trash they are after ya "drain em" of the water in a noisy manner.

We need the military on our borders. And we need to start massive deportations. Like a cancer, these illegal aliens are terrorizing schools and neighborhoods, as has been happening not just along the borders but in Maryland and Virginia.
This is the other Texas Minutemen, Mark.
