It's very possible the reason Juran and the Kalpoes haven't told the real story of what they know, is due to FEAR from others, who could inflict more pain than the judical system.

That has been stuck in my mind since the night I watched PVDS sweat during Greta's interview. If there had been an "accident" of some sort and JVDS went to his father why wouldn't the so called master of technicalities have looked to mitigate the damage right there? If Joran or Deepak lost their mind and killed her would they really run to PVDS for direction? I mean what kid runs to their father to say I killed a girl tonight, can you help me out? Kids hide a lot less from their parents.

My friend has no way of knowing whether or not it is true that Joran has a line of credit at the Excelsior because she's no longer working there. That's correct. What she did say when I asked if she thought the rumors and Beth's statement might be correct was she did not believe it was true. She said something to the effect that unless Posner had lost his mind and was operating completely contrary to how he had when she worked there, she could not imagine him extending a line of credit to a 17 yr. old kid for any amount as he had always been stingy with credit, always offering less than what a person could qualify to receive. That was his m.o.; always choosing to offer a lesser amount that would be easy to collect like he had no desire to apply pressure in the event that the person didn't ante up quickly to cover losses.

I agree with you that it still leaves open the possibility that Joran does have credit for whatever reason (Joran doing "work" for him of some kind and receiving this in payment, using credit that has been extended to his father since the father has given permission, etc.)

Nancy Grace: Kalpoes could land back in jail this week per NG. Joran underwent tough interrogation. FBI being involved is b/s. There is only one FBI agent participating in the investigation.

Anastasiya Bolton: Kalpoes can be arrested as soon as this week. The gardener is to give sworn testimony this week. If the gardners story does not change that he saw the Kalpoes ducking in the car around 2:30 a.m. on the morning in question. Beth was offering Deepak the $250,000.00 reward money to come forward and testify.

Jossy Mansur: The prosecution believes in the gardener's testimony. Maybe the gardener got scared and that is why the gardener did not show up last week. Jossy does not understand why the gardener did not show up, but Jossy stated that the gardener will.

Leslie Austin: Can understand that Beth would want to go and address Deepak

Debra Opri: The best thing that I heard coming out of Aruba is that the FBI was allowed the tapes. To Beth please take a step back. She will be accused of inferring.

David Foley: They (the Holloways and Twittys) need to stay out of the way. Let the officials handled it.

re: JM editorial

SM, arubagirl:

See, he had a good point there. However, he himself says that it is not up to Aruba to decide if FBI gets carte blanche here, it is up to the Dutch.

Also, Sat. this guy says that Joran started to 'sing', today it's 'he's saying nothing important'.

We need the FBI, for their 'super-efficiency', but Karin Janssen and Roy Tromp have everything under control.

Our tourism doesn't matter, yet he says that we'll have a 'a big boom'.

And the analogy with sending people abroad is not correct, it would be better if he compared it to inviting a doctor operating here, and I'm pretty sure that there are rules attached to that.

In one article he admonishes everyone who is not part of the official investigation to stay off the tv, now he's defendin why he and others are on the tv.

He is not 'informing Aruban People' by appearing on FOX, and he damn well knows it.

In short, as usual, I take everything that he writes with a grain of salt.
----

In my opinion, he is trying to show with this case that he is DA MAN and that the whole of Aruba would just fall apart without him. I think that the Mansurs have had their power deminished after that closing of the bank that they owned, and this rankles him a bit.

Native Lingo said it best when she said to me that Jossy Mansur will always be against the one in power, so that he can tell those who win the next time 'you owe me, now pay up'. If the paying up doesn't happen to his satisfaction, here it goes again with the negativity. Both big parties have experienced it.

Furthermore, I'm really glad that he is funding the search at the lanfill, and let me assure you, had Red not told me this, I wouldn't know about it, but I'm sceptical of the motives when I'm read here that he's been saying things on tv that he shouldn't have (the whole kiddie pool thing), and that he's saying wrong things to boot (they never found the kiddie pool that day, I honestly couldn't tell if they've found it since).

I think he's using this case as another political blow against the current party in power, and he is the ONLY one so far who has done this, as the parties themselves have wisely not said a word about it. As for this case influencing this election? I doubt that it's going to, the case on its own. You can argue that a PM shouldn't have called the cops a 'bunch of boy scouts' on the radio (he did, heard it myself), you can argue that this is just another example of MEP (current party in power) and its incompetence.

But, "Natalee Holloway disappeard and thus you must go" kind of arguement is not going to fly. Plus, I think that the parties are really trying to not politicize this, and for this they should be commended, as very little is sacred in politics here. And I can say that this restraint (again, so far) has been kept by all parties.

Nancy Grace: Did Joran get a birthday cake for his birthday?

Anastasiya Bolton:

Equusearch has left the island. They ran out of money. No one would assist them with equipment. Lead investigator hopeful that the Kalpoe brothers will provide some info and something big is/could happen prior to Sept. 4th.

Jossy Mansur: Joran was questioned from morning until 7:30 p.m. on his birthday. Joran is talking, answering some questions.

I agree, Dolphy. I don't think it was an accident. I also think PVDS knows exactly what's going on.

Perhaps they could transfer some of the reward money to keep Equusearch digging the landfill.

"Our job is not to be your friends. It's to be your parents."

Excellent!!!

And to all spouses: Your spouse is NOT your friend, he/she is your husband/wife.

Beware of shrinks trying to destroy the family by insunuating that our parents are our friends. They are our Mom and Dad! Your wife is NOT your friend - she's your wife! Your husband is NOT you friend - he's your husband.

Language: it has consequences. Beware the abuse of our language!

Again, thanks for your info input, Penowa.

So, there are a couple of ways Joran could have a line of credit to use.

Reward in Natalee Mystery Rises to $250G

Monday, August 08, 2005

ORANJESTAD, Aruba — The mother of an Alabama honors student missing in this Caribbean island for over two months said Monday the investigation into the teen's disappearance has been marred by ineptitude, and more than doubled the reward for help in solving the case to $250,000.

Natalee Holloway's (search) mother, renewing criticism of authorities on the Dutch Caribbean island, said police had given her copies of statements from witnesses and other documents from the investigation that have led her to believe investigators are on the wrong track.

"The level of ineptness has been incredible," Beth Holloway Twitty said of Aruban authorities. "The whole thing has been wrong from the beginning."

She declined to give details on the documents or say how she thinks authorities should be handling the case.

The family is also offering a $1 million reward for information leading to the 18-year-old's safe return. The other reward was raised from $100,000, and Holloway Twitty wanted to publicize the rewards in neighboring Venezuela and Colombia, even though Aruban authorities and the FBI said they don't believe the teen left the Dutch Caribbean island.

The family has said the reward is a mix of their own money and donations, but they have declined to give a breakdown.

"I hope more money will help bring people forward," she said in an interview with The Associated Press. "I still don't feel like this investigation is heading in the right direction."

Chief Prosecutor Karin Janssen called the criticism unwarranted.

"I'm positive about our progress and very proud of my team," said Janssen.

Extensive searches by Dutch marines, Aruban police, and thousands of volunteers have found no trace of Natalee, who vanished on May 30 during a graduation trip with 124 classmates on the island.

No one has been charged in the disappearance. Seven men were arrested, but all except 18-year-old Joran van der Sloot have been released.

Through his lawyers and family, van der Sloot has acknowledged being on a beach alone with the young woman the day she disappeared, but says he left her there unharmed.

My take is Natalee has been murdered. Urine, the kalpoe brothers are all involved one way or another with this crime. All three know that if there is no body it will be very hard to prosecute.

I also wonder about the condition of the suspects cars. Was there any detergent residue in the trunk or back seats of any of the cars. Any detergent residue would mean there was an attempt to purge such areas of any possible remains.

Nobody that I know cleans out their trunk.

"Aruba has gorgeous beaches, water activities, sun, pretty good restaurants."

Never been to Aruba and I don't think i would ever want to go there.

Those these you mention above do not a country make. The worth of a country is the worth of its people.

He sounds as if he owns the country or trying to own it by running for political office.
