You say "one girl goes missing and everyone is upset." That is the most heartless thing I have ever heard. Someone's daughter is ripped from their lives and you're wondering why people are upset?
And you say there's "no evidence" because there's no body? What about all the witness accounts and coverup by the government?
Officials blatantly ignored or disregarded any evidence or tips leading to Natalie. They should have kept those boys from day one. Instead they chose to let a week go by before even questioning them or taking any evidence from their homes.
And, yes, maybe Natalie should not have left with the boys on her own but leaving a bar with someone does not give those people any right to harm/abduct or whatever they did to her. This crime should've and would've been solved by now if there wasn't a major cover up, period.
I'm sure Aruba is a beautiful island, and I hope your vacation there goes as planned. But I also hope as an American that you are with someone at all times and do not run into any children or friends of government officials who may cause you harm.

In regards to some here who can't accept that an 18-year-old girl might have moral standards high enough to keep them from fooling around...
Those who don't have high moral standards tend to have a hard time fathoming that some people would not do things that they themselves wouldn't think twice about. When someone declares themseves to be a virgin, many people don't believe him/her. That's because invariably those people are not virgins themselves and can't fathom that someone wouldn't do what they consider "no big deal." Know what I mean?
(CBS) Natalee Holloway's mother claims there may be some manipulation of the investigation in Aruba of the disappearance of the Alabama teen on the island some ten weeks ago.
Beth Holloway Twitty asserted on The Early Show Monday that some key elements were left out of important documents given to the FBI by Aruban authorities.
The bureau is acting in an advisory capacity in the probe.
Twitty spoke after a judge in Aruba struck down a motion by attorneys for the only suspect still being held in the case, Dutch teen Joran van der Sloot, seeking to have the FBI cut out of the loop altogether.
A visibly angry and frustrated Twitty told co-anchor Rene Syler the investigation so far has been "unbelievable. And you know, not only for me, but everyone that has witnessed everything that (has gone on). And the level of ineptitude, the level of omission of things, blatantly orchestrated, you know, errors. It's just been incredible."
Asked about the judge's ruling concerning the FBI, Twitty said she's glad the bureau will still have access to information, but added, "I'm concerned about the correctness of the information that's given out. Those initial declarations (by detainees who were questioned) are huge.
"And you know, the one thing that really concerns me is, I flew out six documents, six declarations. I won't say which ones. But when you see that key elements are purposely omitted from these declarations, now I see how the investigation took the turns it did early on with those two security guards (who were held briefly, then released
Van der Sloot continues to be questioned by behavioral specialists, and Twitty says, "I am so hoping that something good will come out of those (sessions). I know they've been working very hard. And I'm sure they're very frustrated with his behavior, and also with the nine lawyers that are continually filing motions and just probably hammering away at the prosecution team.
"So you know, I just feel like it's … headed in a good direction. I don't know if I still need to make a plea to Holland (Aruba is an autonomous part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands). I'm just really concerned. I just don't think that we're still going to wind up with the answers that we need.
"Surely," Twitty continued, "someone (in Holland) could at least continue to put pressure on (Aruban authorities). I think we need more involvement."
Natalee's family has upped the reward being offered yet again. It's still at $1 million for Natalee's safe return, but has been raised to $250,000 for information about Natalee's whereabouts.
"I feel like we've done everything that we can possibly do to get someone to come forward with information," Twitty observed. "You know, we're hoping now to maybe put it into some kind of Spanish public service announcement to reach citizens … we may have missed.
"Other than that, I'm thinking just the continued pressure from the U.S., begging for more help from Holland and, other than that, the responsibility lies on these officials on the island.
Twitty was emphatic when Syler asked whether she's prepared for the possibility that Natalee may never be found: "No, I'm not. And I don't think any official on this island should be prepared for that."

At this point, my only purpose in going to Aruba would be to help search for Natalee. From what I have seen during this investigation, I do not wish to be anywhere near the place.
Unfortunately, for many of those they didn't have a choice in losing their virginity, so they've had to tell themselves it was no big deal in order to live with it. Certainly not in all cases, perhaps not even in most. But many promiscuous people were victims of incest or stranger rape themselves.
Yes, I didn't mean to say that all people who are not virgins have lower moral standards. It was just an example I've seen wherein those who DO have lower moral standards have a hard time understanding those who live differently from them.
I didn't mean to offend anyone with that example. ;-)
As a person who's only been sober for four years, I don't suppose it's any big deal or big surprise for me to say that I wouldn't go to ANY place like that. There's only one reason to go to an island like that and that's to par-tee. Including drugs and sex.

I wasn't suggesting you need to do a mea culpa, I'm sick of people doing mea culpas. I agree that for people exposed to sex too young there's a tendency to assume everybody else is that way too. Just like in the opposite case those who haven't seen evil assume people are basically good, and they're not.
Bless her heart. Beth is out there doing what it takes. I keep waiting for her to stumble, but she just gets stronger and stronger. I hope she stays on TV as much as possible. She is one tough lady!

Some in the media want to focus on the medias attention to the story. We must do all we can to help Beth keep the story active and front in the media. Send your e-mails to all cable news and MSM outlets informing them that this is what we want. Natalee is America's daughter and we want her back. The sooner the better.
