I must say this thread --and just about everyone who has posted-- are showing why FR is a first-class operation. I can only imagine what they'd be saying over at DU if this were some conservative host (what am I saying, they started in with Laura Ingraham until John Edwards' wife lit into them).
As some of you know, Mr.FF works at the ABC-network. This weekend he's working (unusual for him to work weekends) doing news. He didn't say anything about this on Saturday but he left work around noon, apparently before there was dire news. Now I can prepare him before he goes in this morning.
From a professional standpoint, Mr.FF has always had wonderful things to say about what a nice person Peter is. If he had the evening network news on I'd always get annoyed, really after the 2000 election, that Peter didn't do a great job of hiding his bias and could be really snarky. But Mr.FF has a different perspective and I expect he will be quite upset.
About a month ago, we were at a bbq with some of his friends from ABC. The most recent word around ABC was that Peter's cancer was stage-4 and he would not be back, Charlie and Liz "filling in" notwithstanding. I've posted a couple of times about it.
I don't wish cancer on anyone. I pray for God's will to be done and for Peter and his family.
FF and Mr. FF...all of us care for a lot of people with whom we disagree on politics, whatever. I hope this thread will stay clean with our prayers and thoughts.
I only met the gentleman once and that was very many years ago when I was just planning on going into broadcast journalism. I have to say that of all the big names I met back them, he is the one that most impressed me.
Adding my prayers to yours... thank you.
