"At least 20 wounded in blast at Beersheba bus station"
By MARGOT DUDKEVITCH AND JPOST STAFF
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Two of the wounded, both security guards who kept the bomber from entering the bus station, were in critical condition and were evacuated to the Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba.
The rest of the wounded, most of whom suffered light injuries or shock, were also evacuated to hospital, a spokesman for Magen David Adom said."
ARTICLE SNIPPET #2: "Initial investigations suggested that the bomber had intended to blow up at the Soroka Medical Center, Channel 2 reported.
This is not the first time a bomber has attempted to target the hospital. In June of this year a woman was caught at the Erez crossing wearing explosives stitched to her underwear, headed for the Beersheba hospital. The woman had been regularly receiving treatment for burns there over the previous year. She told interrogators that she had wanted to kill 40 or 50 people, including as many youngsters as possible."

"Suicide bomber shatters quiet"
By Joshua Mitnick
THE WASHINGTON TIMES
August 29, 2005
TEL AVIV --
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Islamic Jihad and the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, a militant affiliate of Mr. Abbas' Fatah party, took responsibility for the attack. The Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade has refrained from attacks during the eight-month period of calm, but Islamic Jihad has initiated strikes on Israelis, including the bombing of a Tel Aviv beach nightclub in March.
The bombing also spurred calls in Israel for the government to speed up construction of its security barrier, which has not been completed near the southern rim of the West Bank because of legal challenges.
Israeli Public Security Minister Gideon Ezra warned that if the Palestinians didn't start confronting militant groups, Israel would "take care" of them by itself. He also lamented the uneven pace of construction of the security barrier."
