I've been in and out recently... moving to school Sunday.

Watching this storm get wound up in the GOM... I'm thinking back to something I believe we came across last yr, jihadi posts/something, referencing Hurricanes.

The current projections would be possibly disastrous for a large portion of the drilling offshore LA... there is a major concentration of rigs there. There is already mass speculation that just shutting these down will drive gas prices up very quickly. If any are taken offline for months/forever, we could be into something even worse.

I don't know, but it seems to me they might have wanted to wait until something like that (high energy prices & natural disaster testing the gov't reponse) happens here before launching the next attack. Not to even mention the ramifications of a category 4 actually coming into the New Orleans area....

Hopefully the National Hurricane Center has their first major bust of the year with this one.

This might be out in left field... I just seemed to remember mention of Hurricanes in a jihadi post in the past. I wouldn't put it past an organization like AQ to put out an order and sit on it for a decade if needed...

NW, maybe they did not wait.

About 7;30 pm, on KFI radio, in the Los Angeles area, the url is above about 10 posts.

There was a clip, the speaker I think was a lady from AAA Auto Club.

She said that gas prices were going to go up, of course for the Labor Day travel, but part of the rise was damage to
two refineries in Northern California.

She said one was a fire and the other an accident. I didn't really catch the names, but the fire might have been Soro or sounded about like that, there is a Soccoro gas, I think.

The second refinery, may have been a Shell plant.

Several years ago, in the area of the oil wells, I think, this is from memory, but I did read the article and see the photos in a California newspaper.

As I recall it:

25 Chinese came in on one of the big ships, off the coast of
California, they were put in the water.

Those that could swim, did so, the others used empty gallon milk bottles to stay afloat.

Their clothes were in plastic bags, tied to the neck.

They made it to the pickup point at a Mall, then got caught.

So we do not relaly need scuba divers to come into the coast of California.

I don't know how many electric plants there on the coast of California, but 35 years ago, we would go to one of the nuclear plant areas for sea shells and pretty rocks on the beach.

When you think that a non-swimmer can reach them with empty milk bottles, you have to worry.

Good luck with that move to school.
I hope it goes smoothly and is uneventful.
