Hi xVIer.

I heard a couple of news reports stating the power outage (in California) was caused by excessive use of power (ie air conditioners, etc.) so the electric company went to rolling black outs until the situation was resolved.

I'll see if I can find an article adressing that.

FYI.

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "LOS ANGELES – High temperatures and the loss of a key transmission line Thursday forced power officials in Southern California to impose rolling blackouts, leaving as many as a half-million people without power for about a half-hour, officials said.

The California Independent System Operator, which operates the electric grid in California, declared a transmission emergency at 3:57 p.m., said ISO spokeswoman Stephanie McCorkle."
