Otsego County
Hazardous Chemicals
A hazardous materials team is called to the hospital after an Otsego county man is exposed to hazardous chemicals. The hazmat team responded to Otsego Memorial Hospital Wednesday night at about six o'clock, to decontaminate the patient and hospital staff. The Otsego county EMS says the chemical had heavy fumes that saturated the air, so part of their job was getting rid of the smell. Officials say the emergency happened so fast, but everyone did their job. The hazmat team trains over four hours each week for emergencies like this. The name and condition of the man have not been released.
