The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

It's hardly a unique fashion statement for a mass transit rider: a Yankees-style cap, and a "New York" sweat shirt.

But the New York Police Department is teaming with British authorities to determine whether those items were worn by suspects in the London terror cases to send a "purposeful message" to the city, according to an NYPD officials.

David Cohen, the NYPD's deputy commissioner of intelligence, raised the concern earlier this week at a security briefing for business leaders at police headquarters in Lower Manhattan.

Gas in my area is just crazy. I paid $2.82 at 7:30 a.m. this morning. I told my husband that that was the cheapest in our area. He went to the same gas station around 8:30 a.m. this morning and they had raised it to $2.99 in just one hour. He just called me around 10:00 to let me know that he passed the same gas station, and they now had this same regular gas price up to $3.11!!! I saw on Drudge and also on the morning news that the prices in Atlanta, GA were running about $5.87!!

I will be stopping at the local Home Depot today to get a few 5 gallon gas containers to have....just in case this gets worse before it gets better.

Chatter: Russia to get televised interview with Osama Bin Laden?

There is chatter currently circulating around Ansarnet (a well known Al-Qaeda Community) that Osama Bin Laden will be conducting a one on one interview with the Russian media, in response to the US Media recently meeting with a Chechen leader. Some Jihadi's express concerns about this news as they feel that the Russians would relay the location of Bin Laden to the Americans which would result in the capture of their global leader. While this chatter has not been confirmed, the following is some of the talk going on in the discussion boards.

Thanks, Vel. So, what does it mean? Are we looking at the interview with the roooskies as a precursor to attack? I know that the russians won't give us OBL, heck they're his main arms dealers. They need his $$$! Good customers are hard to find. Anyway, with the 911 anniversary approaching, our economy taking a major Hurricane hit, the troubles in N.O. stretching assets from DHS and FEMA to the limits, as well as tying up police and national guard assets....heck, if AQ doesn't take the shot for the sequel to 911 they have no shot to take. At least...that's MY take. LOL

People who do not know or care about right and wrong are more dangerous that hurricanes.

That's right. This morning's TV reports indicate helicopters are unable to rescue people because of gunfire from the ground. Innocent people's lives are endangered because some are barbaric and lawless. It's my understanding 1500 police are being sent in to quell the violence - it's unreal the lawless have gotten away with this for this long.

Initially I thought air drops of food and water was essential. Rethinking this because looters would commandeer the supplies, depriving others of it and there's the potential of looters killing innocent people when they attempt to hoard it.

Hubby pointed out this AM those looters deprived of their drug habit must be going out of their skin in withdrawal. Certainly they would love to overtake a helicopter or hospital with what they need to get their fix.

Economic and human disaster - this is exactly what AQ wanted for us - surprised Zarqawi hasn't taken credit!
