The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

It's hardly a unique fashion statement for a mass transit rider: a Yankees-style cap, and a "New York" sweat shirt.

But the New York Police Department is teaming with British authorities to determine whether those items were worn by suspects in the London terror cases to send a "purposeful message" to the city, according to an NYPD officials.

David Cohen, the NYPD's deputy commissioner of intelligence, raised the concern earlier this week at a security briefing for business leaders at police headquarters in Lower Manhattan.

Hizballah will continue to "terrorize enemy"

BINT JBEIL: Hizbullah said the resistance would stay on the Lebanese-Israeli border to "terrorize the enemy and strengthen the country" and strongly criticized the United Nations.
Hizbullah commander in the South Sheikh Nabil Qaouk spoke during the funeral of Hizbullah member Mahmoud Noureddine, 33, in the village of Khirbet Sellom. Hizbullah said Noureddine was killed "doing his duty for his country through jihad."

"No matter how much international pressure increases, the resistance will not allow foreign will to take our right and our weapons," Qaouk said.

"Maybe America is politically stronger than Lebanon and Hizbullah in the Security Council, but it is not stronger than the resistance, its people and its project in Lebanon."

Scary situation... I hope it misses NO. If not, we could see massive oil disruption, a major city nearly destroyed, and numerous chemical plants at risk of spewing garbage into the environment. The fed response will be enormous... perfect time for something devious to happen in another city.

Just catching up here on TM; have been watching The Weather Channel all day. The stolen jet fuel truck is quite a ways from Katrina's expected landfall (700 or 800 miles, best guess; maybe further). But as powerful as this storm is, if it stays together, it can cause major weather problems throughout the entire southeast over the next few days, including KY. So yes, this stolen fuel truck could possibly be in Katrina's projected path, unless it has been driven far from the site of the theft.

Time to check every horse barn, every garage, every structure big enough to hide this.

Your words haunt me. There's something to be said for implementing a large scale search for this vehicle. Not doing it leaves a vulnerability of huge proportions.
