Here is a little homework for you... try to define the word 'hegemony'.

Here is how I would do it...

The white man came to America and conquered a bunch of innocent peace loving Indians who were thriving in an ancient culture...

The white man after establishing himself as superior exploited minorities such as blacks to sustain themselves in their power...

THAT is the foundation of Chinese thinking regarding America...THEY go in with these ideas taught to them all throughout school.

And that America STILL has this idea as its basis....and fundamental thinking...

While it sounds like he 'understands' he really doesn't understand at all.

Their root thinking about America and its foundations is just wrong. I have argued with people on this stuff alot... Chinese people that is...

This guy believes in Communist propaganda and thats all it really amounts to.

I think Kerry etal took lessons from this man in "how to subvert the USA". Not to be too hegamonistic, but we should eliminate them.

One of the great things about the United States is that we aren't a homogenous culture at all. Heck, even here at the free republic we scream at yell at each other about ideas, people who look at the United States and see McDonalds, football and Hollywood aren't looking at how diverse the culture and ideas really are.

Interesting.

Now there is a definition for it Hegemony -- The predominant influence, as of a state, region, or group, over another or others. but the Chinese are the only ones I ever catch using the word.

There are some things in that article that make me wonder if (when) that writer starts questioning his own government. For instance, he talks about white racism then he says we're not. He talks about immigration and the desire for just about everybody to live here. He talks about our willingness to criticize ourselves (which I think means it inevitiable for him to start asking questions about Beijing.)

He seems honestly confused.
