Now there is a definition for it Hegemony -- The predominant influence, as of a state, region, or group, over another or others. but the Chinese are the only ones I ever catch using the word.
There are some things in that article that make me wonder if (when) that writer starts questioning his own government. For instance, he talks about white racism then he says we're not. He talks about immigration and the desire for just about everybody to live here. He talks about our willingness to criticize ourselves (which I think means it inevitiable for him to start asking questions about Beijing.)
He seems honestly confused.

First we are a bunch of racists....then he shows how we are promoting minorities...
Or is he saying that?
In fact I would state that he doesn't see the diversity as "America", but rather those minorities are brainwashed 'tools' of 'the man'..."America"...
I think he thinks those people have the Stockholm Syndrome...
