Im tech challenged...but we had digital cabel with a box...we never watched all the extra channels or listened to the radio stations....so since I have webtv hooked up to my television we dropped the digital cable and had broadband connected to the webtv...

Sounds like a good option do not think this is available in the UK.
Most people who have cable use the LAN option via the digital top box though you can go for the broadband option separately via cable modem. Alternatively if you do not have cable then broadband is done through the conventional phone line not sure how that works but that is the most common form of broadband in the UK.
