LOL! I can almost see it :)
I didn't know Wayne and Sinatra didn't like each other. Hm.
I had no idea that babies and children died in the Pentagon attack .. how much more sad.
jonny -- great post! I think anything named for that unmentionable could reasonably be called
And that's how little he has in brains, character, integrity, motives and patriotism. He's a disgrace to these United States of America.
This is an even better namesake vessel ...
Wolfie, btt -- snugs is hopefully out having a good time at her boss's party ... let me know if you'd like me to select a toaster or other virtual fantasy that's NOT embellished with a picture. I have no idea how to do that ;).
I haven't been downtown since her first arrival .. but I believe she's out on sea trials at the moment. I have no idea when she will be back in port for a few weeks before heading out on her first deployment.
You're right - that is a "cool photo".
AWESOME!!! How're your artistic pursuits going??
Bogart was #1 and Stewart was #3; if it was up to me, James Stewart would have been #1. When you think of the incredible depth and breath of Stewarts' work, from Destry, to Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, to Philadelphia Story, to It's a Wonderful Life, to Harvey, to Winchester 73 and his other great westerns, to Vertigo and Rear Window, no other actor played such a wide range of roles and movie genres so superbly and so convincingly.
Maybe we should send this link to Carolyn?
Thanks for the Reagon info, Pol.
In '41 my grandfather was 36, draftcard with two minor
sons. My dad joined in '44 age 17.
After Pearl Harbor, some of the kids that were in my
dad's classes never showed up the next day.
They were the Japanese FDR rounded up and put in camps.
Most if not all were good citizens and sons were in WWII
And .. one of those little boats following the carrier belongs to a member of my chapter - he's a former seal and has a good sized boat. There were 3-4 other members of the chapter out there to greet her as she came into port.
Hm. I don't agree with that. Wayne was far more effective on screen than he would've been on the battlefield. He was always loyal to the military in spirit. He even made a pro-military movie during the height of Vietnam, "The Green Berets", for which he was ridiculed and laughed at. His response: "Somebody's got to stand up for those guys", meaning the US soldiers. And he did so at a time when it was not popular.
Bill Clinton is encouraging Cherie Blair to run as a MP. Apparently he has offered to help campaign for her if she decides to run.
That is ugly. His wife will be running for prez,
his girl friend was running for PM in Canada and now
the clintoon is butting into England's business.
No...I don't like anything Wayne did if it was not military or western....
Wouldn't that be Travis
Okay, I guess :) Hopefully I'll have a new picture ready next week. I don't really like the one I have up now. It's too flat and stiff.
It is on the digital package, but we cancelled it when we ordered broadband....we never watched it anyways..
Hi, STARWISE. Glad you enjoyed this selection of photos. Yep, thanks to our ever-vigilant media (barf) most Americans are unaware that infants and children were among those who were killed in those attacks. There were children aboard at least two of the four hijacked planes. There was a group of middle school children from the Washington, DC area on board the flight that hit the Pentagon. They were on a school trip of some kind.
The baby-killer Islamofreaks about those planes showed the infants and kids no mercy. We should remember that the next the the media whines about panties on heads, or conditions at Gitmo, or about how we have to "understand the root causes."
The only good Islamofreak is a dead one as far as I'm concerned.
That would be Travis!!
I just watched the H&M on AMC...had't seen it for 25-30 years(I feel so old)...it wasn't as good as I remembered it, but worth seeing Wayne slap Robert Stack...LOL
You can't appreciate The Duke until you see him behind the wheel of a Pontiac Bonneville :-D
