Poll: Fewer Americans Think Bush Is Honest (Oversampled Dems alert: 49% Dems, 39% R, 12% other)

The percentage of people who say they consider Bush honest has dropped slightly from the start of the year. In January, 53 percent described him that way in the AP-Ipsos poll, while 45 percent said they did not believe he was honest. Now, people are just about evenly split — 48 percent saying he's honest and 50 percent saying he's not.

A solid majority still see Bush as likable and a strong leader, but a growing number view the president's confidence as arrogance, up from 49 percent in January to 56 percent now.

The poll of 1,000 adults was conducted Aug. 1-3 by Ipsos, an international polling firm. It has a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.

Bush's biggest error in his presidency is not securing the borders. Ann Coulter even criticized Bush (or at least agreed with O'Reilly) on the border control situation. If Bush deployed 10,000 troops to the borders, we could make a major impact. I can see no reason whatsoever that he is ignoring this issue. Conservatives would love him for it.

This push poll is part of the left's new guru Prof. Lakoff.

He is part of the effort to redifine Pres. Bush as a "weak father" and as a dishonest man.

They are trying to minimize the effectivness of Bush the campaigner for 2006.

Just to add to the media polling bias, here is the recent history of the "ever-reliable" AP/Ipsos polls (January - August 2005) and their political Party ID sample composition for each poll. The AP/Ipsos polls push Independents to identify with either Republicans or Democrats, only the 'hard-core' remain as self-identified 'Independents'...

This is an mixed ADULTS and Registered Voters poll, not just registered voters. Note the consistant gap in the party ID between Democrats and Republicans, strange given the the 2004 Presidential Election exit polls identified 37% Republicans, 37% Democrats and 26% Independents among the voting American public. The Republicans have achieved voter self-indentification parity with the Democrats for the first time since the late 1920s.

This series of AP/Ipsos poll result on Presidential job approval and the American public views on the 'direction of the country' was as always based on a skewed demographic sample that averages 41% Republican, 49% Democrat and 10% Independent composition. I think that when the AP poll fails to get the results they desire, they 'play' with both the registered voters composition and vary the un-registered voter portion of the poll sample. Since the Registered voter portion of the poll averages around 79% and the 'breathing' voter averages around 21% you can see they have quite a bit of "statistical slack" to play with to get the results they require...

This is really funny.

I was recently asked to give my opinion (along with a dozen or so other people) on a testy local issue. The reporter started swearing a blue streak when the first 9 people she went to question wouldn't give her the answers or point of view she wanted to hear.

I just about blew my cork when the story aired on the local station - TWO people were quoted, and a completely [anti-development] spin was presented as the "majority opinion" of town residents in the story.

They got around it by endorsing the "compartmentalization" argument that he was a good president but a flawed person. "Flawed person" was a euphemism for "dishonest."

The RATS attempted to win the 2004 election through polls. The whole cycle from 2001-2004 was always about polls. Now, after Bush actually won with 60,000,000 votes, the RATS are back with polls.

I think the RATS are very confused. The Constitution says power is decided through elections, not through polls. Does anybody have questions?

Fake Polls are a key part of the propoganda machince of the MSM.

This poll has so many flaws in it.

FLAW#1: It is a poll of 'national adults'.

FACT: 20% of national adults are not registered to vote.

FACT: 50% of national adults do not vote in Presidential Elections.

FACT: 60% of national adults do not vote in Midterm Elections.

THIS MEANS ONLY 40% OF THE PEOPLE POLLED ARE 'LIKELY VOTERS'.


FLAW#2: It oversamples Democrats. In fact the sample is altogether crooked.

Here is the standard sample of an honest 'likely voter poll.

35% Democrat
33% Republican
32% Independent

This is the model SCOTT RASMUSSEN uses. He was consistent throughout 2004 with the President's Job Approval balanced between 48% and 53% while the NY Slimes and AP had Bush at 41% in polls.

A real poll has a 2 point spread between the Democrats and GOP.

This fake poll has a 10 point spread.

So add 8 points positive for Bush to every result in this poll.


Here's the bottom line. The AP is lying. They produced these fake polls to do five things.

1) To convince Conservative and Republican voters that the sky is falling. Don't vote, your losing.

2) To pacify liberal viewers and readers to think they are gaining. Don't give up.

3) To undermine our war effort by giving ammunition to detestable liberal politicians.

4) To undermine our war effort by giving weasels like Lindsay Graham and Mike DeWine and Chuck Hagel the ability to be on every morning show on every irrelevant liberal network.

5) To put pressure on President Bush to give up.

4 out of 5 will work.

Bush will win in the end and liberals who have been propagandized by FAKE POLLS will claim voter fraud when elections show them the losers that they are.
