Killing children

Killing children
When evil is done in God's name

On July 19, the Iranian government executed the two teenage boys - one 18 and one 16 - shown in the photo below for the capital offense of homosexuality. In the 14 months of imprisonment preceding their barbaric hanging, the boys were tortured and flogged.

Although the Iranian government recently claimed - contrary to all original reports - that the two were executed for raping a 13-year-old boy, most observers characterize that justification, for several good reasons, as a trumped-up charge to undermine world outrage. Even if it were true, it would not excuse this monstrous act of primitive violence.

When I first saw the picture, one of three in wide circulation, it so shocked me that I was convulsed by tears and rage in a way I haven't been in a long time.

The Creative Loafing here is a weekly free paper that is about as liberal as it gets. Every single editorial is usually dripping with liberal hatred of anything conservative or Bush.

At first I thought, "Wow, a liberal finally sees the fundamental extremist Muslims for what they are..." Then, like the usual hit piece, he goes on to equate the Iranians he writes about to conservatives and even FR specifically. (3rd paragraph from the bottom)

I got a kick out of it and thought I would share it.

It will forever amaze me that the followers of a supposedly loving God won't allow people to love one another as they choose.

It is not loving to endorse a lifestyle that will lead people to hell.

This photograph is an example of the evil people do in God's name.

Excuse me, that's in ALLAH'S NAME, not GOD'S name. They are very different.

You don't have to search long on the Internet to find plenty of right-wingers who regard homosexuality as a capital offense.

You don’t have to search long, and apparently he didn’t, since he couldn’t cite a single example.

Who is this wingnut calling a wingnut? Really, and to bring up Matthew Shepard again? Has there been ANY thing like that since 1998 here it the US? Sigh. These people have no idea the liberty they live under in this land and the level of tolerance that is accepted here. I give up on the left.

And let me take a wild guess: Mr. "Killing Children" is probably as pro-abortion as you can get, and denounces "right-wingers" for being pro-life and "anti-woman."

We think it couldn't happen in America. But I'm sure that many other gay people saw this picture and, like me, recalled Matthew Shepard, the 21-year-old man who was savagely tortured and beaten, then lashed to a fence to die in Wyoming in 1998.

...and another liberal just can't let go of the false, but legendary, gay-bashing angle of Matthew Shepard. If you don't mind the truth: Matthew Shepard was murdered in a robbery. It had nothing to do with his sexuality. Nothing.

President Clinton mourned Shepard's murder alongside gay Americans. Despite the ways he politically disappointed us, nobody doubted his sincerity.

Then you, sir, are an idiot.

Noted that derogatory reference to FR. Wonder if Bostock is queer?

And how it really went is...

1. Matthew Shepherd was found tied to the wooden fence with his life hanging only by a thread,

2. He was hospitalized but his injuries were too severe for any medical assistance to sustain his battered body.

LOL. Do you always take confessed murderers at their word?

Since there were three people present when the crime was committed, and one of them is dead, how have you determined what the motivation was?

Well, consider that nobody in the world wants this to be a hate crime more than liberal mainstay ABC - 20/20. Since it was that show which investigated and declared that it was more of a robbery / bad drug buy, I'm inclined to believe them.

Don't recall checking in with an opinion on the motivation. I'm laughing at the guy who takes the murderer at his word. That's all.

Murderers motivated by saving their own skins lack a bit of credibility in my book.

I did however get a good, honest chuckle from your post (the line "and one of them is dead"), given your handle.

I live outside of Baltimore, and most spontaneous robberies don't involve the level of sadism evidenced in this case. More like, shoot 'em dead (168 murders so far this year), and get the hell out of there.

There was a recent news account of exactly the same thing occuring. The father, believing his three year-old boy was effeminate and likely to grow up gay, decided to beat it out of him. The beatings took their toll: The little boy died. Perhaps, the man was truly successful in beating it out of the boy, now there is absolutely no chance the little boy will grow up to be gay. There are religious leaders and their allies, who advocate lynching gay people.

Examples:

Fred Phelps, of the Westboro Baptist Church

Paul Cameron

It would seem that statement is another one of Louis Sheldon's lies. Louis Sheldon, head of the Traditional Values Coalition, is among other things, a damned liar. Sheldon is just another example of how total scumbags become television evangelists.

Fred Phelps and ilk like him have 0 power in this society. What I am sick of hearing from Leftists like the author is how evil America is, how the right want to kill gay people, etc. NON of that will come to pass without a very very bloody civil war. The fact that the author can even write this article is a testiment to the strength of true liberty and freedom in the US. He should be proud and appreciative. All gays should be appreciative of the life they can live in the US. They damn sure couldn't live any kind of life in Iran or many other places (and the Netherlands is on its way to Islamo-Europe).

So is this the question--either we turn our whole civilization upside-down to accommodate organized sodomy, or we have public executions and floggings of "gays"? Before we had the "gay rights" movement, was this Iran West? Before we had Lawrence v. Texas, was it open season on sods? This is just another attempt to manipulate public opinion by means of scare tactics.

Hmm... That's odd. I was sure it was Elizabeth Vargas who did the story. Does Sheldon work for 20/20 too?

There are more liberals who hang on to every word of Fred Phelps than actual members of his so-called "church."
