Some on FR think the LA Times is the word of God, I guess.

Rush just said it is the Left's intent to use this case to create a Right Ring backlash against Roberts since they (the left) have nothing on him.

"absolutely crucial" advice on how to argue the case before the Supreme Court. Ten hours of advice on how to argue a case before the Supreme Court?
Call me naive, but I don't think this is all the Coulters want to make of it.
To: msnimje
Fred Thompson will be on Rush's show in the 1:00 PM hour.

Of course.
It's the same reason the night Roberts was announced the Left on every show kept using the same line, "he's not as conservative as we expected (feared)". Something to that effect.
Which some conservatives said was proof we wasn't a good pick. nevermind they all used the same line within an hour proving it was a part of a talking points fax.
The Left is trying to get the right to take him down, and I'm not falling for it. Everything I've reviewed about Roberts have been overwhelming confirming of my impressions of him.
BTW, Rush just announced Fred Thompson will be on at 10 PST, 1EST.

I am sure the LA Times gets a real smile on it's face every time they read that a conservative has doubts about Roberts.
The left has no case to keep Roberts off the court.
So they are doing the next best thing.
Using reverse psychology on his supporters.
What the low life's at the New York Times tried to do to Roberts children tells you how desperate the left has become.
The liberals don't necessarily care about what Roberts stands for as much as they want to hurt Bush and America.
These sorry b@$t@^d$ would sell their mothers into a whore house if it would only hurt America's traditional values.
It's time for the ACLU to go. Why are we paying the ACLU scumbag ambulance chasing attorneys fees so they can sue us?

I have plenty of problems with the GOP and president these days but the nomination of Roberts isn't one of them.

Form the beginning, I said consider the original source of this story: THE L.A. TIMES. You know darn well they stretched what little facts they had to the breaking point to spin this as hard as they could to get this reaction from the right.
That said, I am not troubled by this for a number of reasons. Roberts worked for a large law firm. Roberts was an appellate specialist. His colleagues were working on an appeal. They consulted Roberts. He agreed. What was he supposed to say? "No way Jose, I'm not going to help a bunch of homos?" Arguing and briefing before SCOTUS is a big deal and that Roberts would help a partner prepare is SOP, regardless of the issue. This story is agitprop. As such, I'm with hearing what Roberts has to say, if anything. That the NY Times is going after his adoption papers and the left is dumping huge resources to keep him off the bench is my greatest comfort. That and knowing W and his faith and belief system...

The more the LATimes and the NYT write about this the less and less concerned I am with it.
It is now very apparent his help was not with the case itself but just "appearance" training.
This is no different than simply telling a lawyer where and when to stand during a trial.
In appeals there are also dos and don'ts which are imporatant. Those are NOT case specific but nevertheless curcial.
This is just the left exercising a divide and conquer strategy.
At this point I am no longer worried about it.
To: cripplecreek
I really think Roberts will turn out to be more of a libertarian than a conservative.

What a cordite comment.

Have any of you actually read Scalia's dissent?
Or at the very least looked into the history behind this case?

If you were listening yesterday, Rush laid out exactly why conservatives are rightly concerned.
